Chapter 256 – Two-Way Connection
Around twenty Zombie Puppets were scattered throughout the building. With Ling Mo’s careful Control, there was no need for them to engage with other zombies, allowing them to safely complete the search of each floor.
The total number of zombies here was roughly around a hundred, and almost all of them had reached the level of Mutation Zombies.
Even if they hadn’t fully evolved, their strength was not far behind.
Such a group of zombies outside would only be a minor hassle.
But when they were hiding in every corner of this building, they were enough to make most Survivors shy away from this place.
Every room could potentially hide a zombie, and their ambushes were nearly impossible to defend against.
However, Ling Mo was not entirely without pressure, as zombies would occasionally smell their way into the Emergency Staircase.
But before these zombies could reach Ling Mo, a flash of silver would knock them down.
In the narrow staircase, soon there were a dozen bodies lying around.
These were all the work of Black Silk. Without Li Yalin and the others to “push her away,” Black Silk was trying hard to please Ling Mo.
Every time she bit a zombie to death, she would happily run around Ling Mo in circles.
But her size was still too large, and several times she nearly knocked Ling Mo into the wall.
“Go ahead! If you bump into me again, I’ll deal with you!”
Ling Mo’s angry glare made Black Silk whimper in grievance.
Though fierce, Black Silk’s hunting skills were quite satisfactory to Ling Mo.
Her speed in taking down zombies was increasing, and the wounds she left were getting smaller.
Her sharp teeth could now accurately sever the trachea, killing the zombies while minimizing blood loss.
As a result, the chance of the bloody smell attracting other zombies was significantly reduced.
“Although your appearance is becoming less and less like what I imagined, your learning ability is indeed impressive… If you can keep this up, it might make up for your lack of coolness.”
Ling Mo thought, shaking his head.
“18 floors…”
In less than ten minutes, they had already completed more than half of the search.
This speed was beyond astonishing—it was downright terrifying!
“When my Psychic Power is strong enough to Control hundreds of Zombies, searching a building like this will be a matter of minutes.”
Ling Mo thought with some anticipation.
But thinking is one thing; his mind was far from idle.
Constantly switching views and simultaneously Controlling twenty Zombie Puppets was no simple task.
Being able to multitask was already impressive, but Ling Mo was now multitasking on a whole other level.
With a solid foundation in Psychic Power, Ling Mo did not feel overwhelmed by this. On the contrary, he was becoming increasingly familiar with this Control mode.
“The key to Control is not to focus too much on what you want the Zombie Puppets to do. Instead, at the moment of establishing a Psychic Link with them, treat them as Psychic Tentacles. Controlling Zombie Puppets is not easy, but isn’t it simple to Control your own Psychic Tentacles? Since it’s just for exploration and not combat, treat them like tentacles. Their job is to bypass all obstacles and enter… no, find the destination.”
Ling Mo thought proudly.
At that moment, one of the Zombie Puppets finally made a discovery.
On the 21st floor, there were three companies, one of which was a warehouse for the Pharmaceutical Sales Company.
“Usually, warehouses are in more remote places. This one is set up like an exhibition hall… It’s probably not just a simple warehouse…”
Ling Mo Controlled the Zombie Puppet to walk in slowly.
Since the location was found, the other Zombie Puppets were no longer needed.
Cutting off the Psychic Link with the other Zombie Puppets, Ling Mo focused all his Psychic Power on this single Zombie Puppet.
A tall female Zombie in a pencil skirt and high heels…
When he had been using her as a tentacle, Ling Mo hadn’t noticed. But now, concentrating his Psychic Power, he realized he was inadvertently Controlling such a white-collar Zombie.
Unfortunately, her clothes were tattered, and her pencil skirt was torn, revealing blood-stained pale thighs.
“Why do I keep Controlling female Zombies lately? Could it be that my Psychic Tentacles inherit my consciousness and start being picky?”
Ling Mo suddenly felt a chill.
He quickly shook his head, refocused on his Main Body, and pulled out the medical supply list from his pocket.
Originally, Ling Mo wanted to immediately call Ye Lian and the three girls back with a command and hand them the list. But then a thought suddenly popped into his mind.
Due to having never encountered such a situation, Ling Mo had never considered this particular question before.
Is it possible to reverse the process and switch Ye Lian and the girls’ perspectives to his own?
If it were Zombie Puppets Controlled by Ling Mo himself, this would be entirely unnecessary. All the information would be fed back to him personally, and the commands would be issued by him alone.
But the situation with Ye Lian and the three girls was unique. Ling Mo had never tried to forcefully Control them. They only shared a Psychic Link, and Ling Mo would at most switch his perspective to theirs.
It was only now that he suddenly thought, could this ability be used in reverse?
Ideally, it could be a two-way connection! Theoretically, as long as his Psychic Power could handle it, this was entirely possible!
“This is definitely worth a try! This way, the complex commands that can’t be conveyed normally could be communicated through reverse perspective switching!”
Ling Mo became excited.
The first test subject he chose was, of course, the White Collar Zombie Puppet. But since this Zombie Puppet was entirely under his Control, Ling Mo felt nothing different. Switching or not… it was still him receiving the visuals!
“It seems I can only rely on Ye Lian and the others…”
Ling Mo hesitated for a moment but decided to give it a try. If it didn’t work, he could immediately stop the switch, causing no mental harm to them.
The best candidate was clearly Xia Na, who had recovered the most in terms of mental capacity.
Having made up his mind, Ling Mo took a deep breath and focused his Psychic Power as much as possible.
At this moment, Xia Na was carrying her exaggerated Scythe, strolling through a company like she was on a leisurely walk.
A dozen Zombies noticed her, but her undisguised Leader-Level aura kept them from daring to approach.
Xia Na occasionally picked up some items from the desks out of curiosity, but soon showed a disappointed expression.
“Not fun… I also want to go out and fight those Zombies… but Xia Na doesn’t want to, saying we have to help Ling-Ge complete the task properly.”
Xia Na muttered softly, “Why do Zombies need to help humans complete tasks? … Okay, you’re right. I used to be human, and Ling-Ge is human… Two to one, you win.”
It was as if she had fulfilled some sort of agreement, and she put away her smile, turned around with her Scythe, and said, “Let’s continue searching the next floor.”
But just as she was about to leave, her vision suddenly blurred.
She immediately shook her head and closed her eyes tightly before opening them again, only to be stunned.
“Huh? Isn’t this the stairwell corner? Why is Black Silk here?”
It seemed as if she had suddenly teleported to another place. Not only could she see Black Silk squatting in front of her, but she could also see a pair of hands…
“Huh, I suddenly became Ling-Ge!”
Although Xia Na had no idea what was happening, it didn’t stop her from feeling a surge of excitement.
However, her excitement quickly turned to disappointment because she could only “see” and not “move.”
Feeling a bit frustrated, Xia Na shook her head again and blinked hard.
Her vision returned to the office, with the Zombies still standing at a distance, staring at her.
But soon she realized that the earlier scene with Black Silk hadn’t disappeared. Instead, it was overlaying with what she was seeing with her own eyes.
This bizarre situation left her stunned for several seconds.
Soon, a notebook appeared in the other scene.
“Unfortunately, my Psychic Power isn’t strong enough to transmit voice yet. I have to use this primitive method.”
Ling Mo quickly wrote a line in the notebook: “This is Ling Mo. Go find Ye Lian and Senior Sister, and bring them to the 21st floor.”
“Huh…”
Xia Na stared blankly at the words. After a few seconds, she suddenly turned her gaze to a desk beside her.
“Uh… This girl is smart. She figured out how to communicate with me using the same method so quickly.”
Ling Mo focused intently on Xia Na’s hand as she picked up a pen and slowly wrote, letter by letter, “Okay, but you first take off your pants.”
“Why?!”
