Volume 2: Battlefield Between Two Worlds

Of the nearly one hundred Level 2 Class Holders who started the fight, only half remained in a short amount of time.

In the distance, William, who was entangled with a Level 3 Salamander Demonic Creature, saw this scene and felt his eyes nearly burst with rage!

Hardening his heart, William began to unleash the full power of Sequence 18!

A massive blade of light swept toward the Level 3 Salamander Demonic Creature. Although it was parried by the defensive glow surrounding the creature, it was easy to see that the light had weakened significantly compared to the start of the battle!

And that blade of light was merely one of William's basic skills!

William: Class: Iron Knight.

Skill 1: Moon Slash (B-Rank, Active Skill): Swings a massive blade of light. Attack power is equal to the Host's own weapon swing. Maximum range: ten meters!

This was William's only offensive skill.

However, this single ability was by no means the full extent of William's strength.

Under the immense external pressure, William directly activated his second skill!

Skill 2: King's Dignity (S-Rank, Active Skill): For ten minutes after activation, all Attributes are doubled. After ten minutes, the skill effect ends. No negative status effects follow!

With the eruption of King's Dignity, William's Physical Attribute was instantly boosted to a terrifying level of over 150 Points!

Swinging his greatsword, a blade of light far larger than before slashed down ruthlessly upon the Salamander Demonic Creature!

William delivered the strike and didn't even glance at the result. He immediately turned and walked toward the Class Holders who were struggling to hold on behind him.

Behind him, the Salamander Demonic Creature had already been cleaved in two by the blade of light!

With the liberation of William's Level 3 combat power, the Class Holders who had been scattered by the Demonic Creatures seemed to find their backbone. Those who were able fought their way toward William, while those who weren't were rescued by him.

Once William had reorganized a defensive line with the more than twenty survivors, his third ability began to work wonders!

Skill 3: Iron Will (B-Rank, Passive Skill): As stamina decreases, the stamina recovery rate increases.

An ability that seemed useless on the surface was actually a miracle cure in a bitter struggle!

It was because of Iron Will that William was able to act like a bulldozer, unleashing an endless stream of Moon Slashes. Judging by his expression, William's stamina was still quite abundant!

As Wen Yu lashed out with Greed's Touch, shredding several Black-skinned Demonic Creatures in front of him, a sniper rifle roared behind him!

A Salamander Demonic Creature hiding among the pack of Black-skinned Demonic Creatures had just extended its tongue when Big Bear blew its head off with a single shot!

Big Bear then swiftly reloaded and fired another shot at a Level 3 Bull Demon whose legs had been shattered not far away!

The poor Level 3 Demonic Creature had only managed to let out a Berserk War Cry before being sent back to hell by Big Bear's sniper rifle.

With the death of the only two Level 3 Demonic Creatures in the combat zone, the battlefield fell into a stalemate.

Demonic Creatures continued to pour in through the city wall entrance in a steady stream. Aside from a few Level 2 Demonic Creatures, the rest were all Level 1 Cannon Fodder.

Though they weren't strong, their sheer numbers still put considerable pressure on all the Class Holders present!

In Wen Yu's squad, the first to feel the pressure was the weakest, Sun Aotian.

"Wen Yu-Ge, I can't hold on much longer!"

Sun Aotian shouted as he punched a Level 1 Demonic Creature into a pulp, only to be tightly ensnared by a Level 2 Black-skinned Demonic Creature. Seeing a swarm of Black-skinned creatures lunging at him with their disgusting yellow teeth bared, he couldn't help but scream for help.

"Monkey!"

At Jiang Wentao's command, Monkey opened fire with one hand while his other hand swiftly yanked out a Plasma Grenade!

He clicked the safety and waited nearly two seconds before hurling the grenade toward Sun Aotian.

The grenade detonated mid-air.

Blue electrical arcs crackled violently around Sun Aotian's waist, but the lethal radius was calculated just right to avoid him.

Sun Aotian gasped for air, but before he could even say a word of thanks, he was dragged back into the fray once more!

"Dammit!"

Having just finished clearing the Demonic Creatures in front of him, Wen Yu finally found a moment to observe the battlefield, only to realize that Sun Aotian was truly a massive liability!

Monkey had just bailed Sun Aotian out, yet the man was already surrounded by Demonic Creatures again. At this moment, Monkey didn't even have the luxury of checking on Sun Aotian's condition.

A Bull Demon, over three meters tall, was charging toward Monkey like a miniature tank!

Big Bear, who was responsible for fire support, had just finished assisting Jiang Wentao. He watched as the Bull Demon charged in during the brief window while Monkey was reloading!

Support wouldn't make it in time!

Seeing the Bull Demon's rapid charge, a ruthless glint flashed in Monkey's eyes. With a flick of his wrists, the two submachine guns vanished from his hands, replaced by two sci-fi-looking Hand Cannons!

Boom! Boom!

Two explosive blasts rang out.

The Bull Demon's head burst instantly. However, before Monkey could make a move to dodge, the Bull Demon's massive carcass slammed into him!

The Bull Demon's weight, combined with its charging momentum, sent Monkey flying.

While still in mid-air, he sprayed out a mouthful of blood!

A massive gap immediately opened in their defensive line!

"One-Eye! Clear out the trash!"

Seeing the impending crisis, Wen Yu barked out an order!

Hearing Wen Yu's command, One-Eye opened his massive maw.

Tyrannical Flame began brewing in One-Eye's mouth!

Less than three seconds later, a massive pillar of fire erupted, sweeping frantically across the Demonic Creatures ahead!

The black flames, like a natural disaster, instantly incinerated every Demonic Creature in front of One-Eye. The residual power of the flames surged out through the city wall entrance, flying further and further toward the horizon before slowly dissipating!

After unleashing the pillar of fire, One-Eye's entire body ignited with Tyrannical Flame. With a flash of his form, he abandoned all pretense of maintaining a formation and plunged directly into the swarm of Demonic Creatures around Wen Yu, beginning a slaughter!

Seeing that the area around One-Eye was now completely devoid of Demonic Creatures, Wen Yu swung his claws and shredded the Black-skinned Demonic Creatures surrounding Sun Aotian. He grabbed the blood-soaked Sun Aotian and tossed him behind the line.

"Tighten the formation!"

Jiang Wentao watched as One-Eye broke formation to draw away more than half of the Demonic Creatures. He punched the monsters in front of him to death and then retreated rapidly, taking a stand at the very front alongside Wen Yu!

Behind the two of them, Monkey pulled out a Healing Potion and downed it. As his injuries rapidly mended, Monkey brought out his modified submachine guns once again!

One-Eye's sudden outburst had relieved the awkward situation where their formation was on the verge of collapse.

However, because One-Eye had broken away, Wen Yu and the others were forced to shrink their formation further and further, keeping the weaker Sun Aotian and Big Bear protected behind them!
