Sun Ruixing shook his head.

"I would definitely lose. If I actually won, it would only be because you let me! That doesn't sound like your style; your heart isn't that soft!"

As Wen Yu spoke, a dazzling purple light erupted from his hand!

"Don't resist. This is the last thing I can do for you!"

The purple light slowly coiled around Sun Ruixing's body, but then, the purple chains of light suddenly snapped.

Wen Yu shook his head with a bitter smile.

"What happened?"

Sun Ruixing was somewhat baffled by what had just occurred.

"It's nothing!"

Wen Yu had just tried to form a contract with Sun Ruixing to take him in as a Soul Pet. Unfortunately, it had no effect at all. Instead, it sent the contract power of his Third Soul Realm into a three-day cooldown period.

"I'm out of options. Say your last words. I will see your final wishes fulfilled!"

Seeing the serious and solemn look in Wen Yu's eyes, Sun Ruixing nodded gently. He then reached out and yanked off the pendant hanging around his neck!

"There's a photo of my daughter inside. She's in Yanjing now-well, she should be in Yanjing. Find her. If you can, look after her for me. At the very least, help her stay alive!"

Wen Yu took the pendant and flipped open the cover. A small, passport-sized photo appeared before his eyes.

Naturally, for this kind of identification-style photo, even the most beautiful woman wouldn't look particularly stunning.

"Her name?"

Wen Yu snapped the pendant shut and solemnly placed it into his Spatial Ring.

"If she is still alive by the time I reach Yanjing, I will find her. That is my promise!"

Sun Ruixing smiled. "I believe in your promise!"

With that, Sun Ruixing immediately pulled a Scroll from the inner lining of his clothes.

"This is the final reward I obtained from the Shimmer Blue Star Treasure Land! It's yours now!"

As Wen Yu took the Scroll, a Notification Tone rang out in his mind.

"Everlasting Shimmer Blue Star (SSS-Rank Active Skill): Upon activation, summons Shimmer Blue Star Heroic Spirits to fight for you. The quantity and quality of the summoned spirits depend on the Host's level and remaining stamina!"

"This Skill was created with peerless power by the former Shimmer Blue Star Sequence 1. It contains the fallen heroic souls of Shimmer Blue Star. When the Host reaches Level 10, the Shimmer Blue Star Sequence 1 residing within this ability will be awakened."

"The heroic souls are immortal! They shall endure for eternity!"

Wen Yu nodded and placed the ability directly into his Spatial Ring before speaking to Sun Ruixing.

"If I can find your daughter, I will give this ability to her."

"Thank you. Finally, I'll leave you with one piece of advice."

"A man has to live for something. Don't just live for the sake of living; it's too exhausting!"

Watching Sun Ruixing close his eyes with a faint smile, Wen Yu stepped forward and gave him a firm hug.

"Old Brother, thank you. I've learned a lot from you…"

"Safe travels!!!"

Greed's Touch retracted and extended rapidly, piercing through Sun Ruixing's heart in an instant!

Exhaling a long breath, Wen Yu looked at Sun Ruixing's body on the ground, feeling a sense of gloom in his heart that he couldn't vent.

Amidst Wen Yu's furious roars, a slow burst of applause echoed from behind him.

Accompanied by the sound of clapping, a voice drifted over.

Hearing the voice behind him, Wen Yu spun around abruptly, narrowing his eyes as he scrutinized the entity that had appeared.

It was, shockingly, an exact replica of Wen Yu himself!

"What the hell is this?" Wen Yu spat out through gritted teeth, but his reaction only elicited a delighted laugh from the Ruler.

"What's wrong? You don't like this look? Then how about… this one?"

To the sound of the Ruler's mocking laughter, its appearance shifted instantly. Standing before Wen Yu now was none other than Sun Ruixing!

Perhaps sensing the murderous intent flaring in Wen Yu's eyes, the Ruler chuckled twice before finally settling on the form of a white-haired, white-bearded old man.

"This should do, shouldn't it?"

"Honestly, you humans have such strange ideas. It's merely an appearance, something entirely superficial, yet it can provoke such a wide range of emotions in you."

"It really is utterly boring!"

Wen Yu stared at the Ruler and spoke slowly.

"I'm not here to listen to your nonsense. Give me my reward, now!"

The Ruler looked at Wen Yu and slowly shook its head.

"You haven't killed every living creature yet. Why would I give you a reward?"

Wen Yu's brow furrowed instantly at the Ruler's words.

The current area of the Battlefield Between Two World was no longer large. At the very least, Wen Yu could take in everything within the Barrier's range with a single glance.

Yet, even with Wen Yu's enhanced vision, he saw no sign of any biological activity.

Seeing Wen Yu's scowl, the Ruler smiled.

"Come here. I'll show you something interesting."

Having said that, the Ruler immediately began walking toward a nearby pile of corpses.

Wen Yu's frown deepened when he saw where the Ruler was heading-it was the exact spot where Little Dragon had just collapsed.

However, whatever was coming had to be faced. Without much hesitation, Wen Yu followed directly behind the Ruler.

"Did you know? Every world possesses its own consciousness."

"You can look at it this way: a planet is essentially a massive living organism!"

"Unfortunately, because their volume is too great and their consciousness too vast, they lack the ability to effectively exercise Manipulation over their own bodies. The only way they can influence the outside world is through a medium!"

"It might be tectonic plate movements, or perhaps various natural disasters. After I descended upon this planet, the laws of the Exchange Pillar that I created brought about certain changes to Earth."

"Maybe they were for the better, maybe for the worse-who knows? After all, I have no way of communicating with your Mother Planet."

"However, that doesn't mean there was no influence at all."

"Stemming from the Demon Realm, under the conflict between the laws of myself and this planet's threefold nature, something else was born on this planet besides the level system and Skills. It was… well, how should I put it…"

"A few interesting lifeforms!"

Hearing the Ruler's words, Wen Yu muttered under his breath.

"Are they the Divine Beast Species?"

The Ruler nodded.

"That's a good term. I'll call them the Divine Beast Species from now on!"

"Just like the lifeform at the very bottom of this pile!"
