Chapter 59 – The Mysterious Person Behind It All

Although they had killed one guard, they still had to get past a security line manned by two more guards before they could reach the warehouse with light spilling out of it. And they had less than three minutes left. Time was slipping away, second by second.

At that moment, in a second-floor room inside that warehouse, a man had just finished sending out a mass message and set down his phone.

Without turning his head, he asked, “What is it?”

“N-nothing. I’m just a little…” Tang Tang, who had been standing hesitantly outside the door for a while, walked in when she heard him.

She had already changed out of her windbreaker and into a pink dress. She looked no different from an ordinary high school girl.

“Nervous?” the man finished for her. “Heh. That’s normal. After tonight, you’ll be reborn. And tonight, I will meet everyone as well.”

“How can that be? Didn’t you say you would stay hidden behind us and protect us?” Tang Tang seemed a little reassured after hearing him, but then she asked in surprise.

“No… I called him. He answered twice, then hung up on me,” Tang Tang said with her head lowered.

“Is that so?” The man nodded, but the smile at the corner of his mouth grew complicated.

“Yes, that’s all I know. If there’s nothing else, I’ll go get ready,” Tang Tang said, somewhat flustered.

But just as she turned and reached the doorway, a Shadowy Figure suddenly flashed past. In the next instant, the door slammed shut in front of her with a bang.

The man’s calm voice came from behind her. “No need to hurry. We’ll go out together in a little while. Tonight, you are one of the main characters too…”

Outside the warehouse, Su Lifeng estimated the distance between the two guards, pondered for a moment, then asked Cheng Xiaomei, “Can you take care of one of them? You don’t have to kill him. Just restrain him or knock him out.”
