Chapter 77 – The Terrifying Blood Beast!

At the Ancient Demon Seed's roar, the red light in the eyes of the Black-skinned Demonic Creature standing beneath the city wall suddenly flared.

All around the Demon City, the remains of the Demonic Creatures slain by Wen Yu and the Military's Super Soldiers began to pulse violently.

Countless Demonic Creatures had died beneath the Demon City's walls over the past few days, leaving the entire surrounding area steeped in the stench of decay.

The foul Demon Blood had even seeped into the ground, leaving only scattered black stains behind.

As the Black-skinned Demonic Creature activated its Skill, the Demon Blood that had long since soaked underground or dried on the surface rapidly began to congeal. As though controlled by some unknown force, it surged out of the ground, dragging severed limbs and mangled remains with it before gathering in front of the Black-skinned Demonic Creature.

In an instant, it was as though a black rain of blood were falling in reverse around the Demon City. Countless droplets flew into the air and streamed toward the Black-skinned Demonic Creature.

At the sight, the Ancient Demon Seed gave a vicious grin and connected its mind to the black Stone Pillar inside the Demon City.

Vast quantities of Demon Qi poured from the three Demon Realm Gates and were rapidly absorbed by the black Stone Pillar. The Demon City's Protective Shield abruptly expanded, enveloping the Black-skinned Demonic Creature beneath the wall.

Xing had naturally noticed the change on the battlefield. He immediately blasted Dragon Flame at the Black-skinned Demonic Creature, only for the Protective Shield to block it.

Without losing momentum, Xing unleashed another blast of Dragon Flame at the black mass taking shape ahead.

The enormous lump of fused flesh throbbed incessantly, as though it were gestating some form of life. Xing's Dragon Flame struck it head-on, but failed to inflict anything close to the damage it should have.

Faced with this unknown phenomenon and the waves of pressure emanating from the mass, Xing halted and regarded it warily.

Wen Yu had naturally seen what was happening near the Demon City.

He withdrew slightly from the fighting and stared at the pulsing black sphere in front of the city, his thoughts unreadable.

In the distance, Kuangliu had already killed seven Demonic Creatures and was making his way over.

"Looks like this is the trump card they had in reserve."

Wen Yu nodded at Kuangliu's words.

This development hadn't gone beyond their predictions. What they had failed to anticipate was that the Demonic Creatures sent out to die hadn't been sacrifices for some curse or Barrier. Instead, their remains had been used to form a massive, unknown entity.

That meant Wen Yu and Kuangliu's tactic of shifting the battlefield had been completely useless.

But…

"It doesn't mean jack shit, does it?"

Wen Yu and his three Soul Pets might have struggled against all these Level 4 Demonic Creatures on their own, but with Kuangliu joining them, a man whose combat strength rivaled that of a Divine Beast Species, the Human Race's forces on the battlefield now vastly outclassed the Demonic Creatures.

That was something the Demonic Creatures had never anticipated.

In fact, even Wen Yu hadn't expected Kuangliu to be this powerful.

At Wen Yu's words, Kuangliu swept his gaze across the battlefield.

One-Eye and Faceless had already torn three Level 4 Demonic Creatures apart. At this rate, they would finish their battle shortly.

Neither Wen Yu nor Kuangliu needed to intervene there.

On Xing's side, the only surviving Demonic Creatures were two Demon Seeds and one Level 4 Black-skinned Demonic Creature.

Both Demon Seeds were also severely wounded.

No matter how they looked at it, this battle was already won.

Just as Wen Yu and Kuangliu concluded that victory was assured, the black mass in front of Xing began to change.

The enormous ball of flesh formed from Demon Blood slowly split open, and a bizarre creature crawled out from within.

Its naked body was completely hairless, and Black Light seemed to flow across its slick skin.

The creature stood nearly five meters tall. With its enormous belly and short, stubby legs, it resembled a gigantic sphere.

The instant the bizarre creature emerged, the Ancient Demon Seed erupted into shrill, maniacal laughter. Its eyes fixed on Xing, brimming with murderous intent!

"Kill him!"

The hate-filled words rang out in the Demon Realm Language from the Ancient Demon Seed's mouth. The Black-skinned Demonic Creature gave a slight nod, then its entire body transformed into a streak of Black Light and shot into the bizarre creature!

Blood Beast (SSS-Rank, Active Ability): Gathers the blood surrounding the battlefield and condenses it into a Blood Beast. The Blood Beast's strength is determined by the amount of blood present on the battlefield. Once the Blood Beast has been summoned, the Host may enter its body and serve as its control core! After learning this Skill, no other abilities can be acquired. The Blood Beast can exist for one day and possesses four abilities!

Blood Beast Ability One: Undying (SSS-Rank, Passive Ability): The Blood Beast is formed from condensed blood and infused with strange energy fluctuations. Even when injured, it will recover within a very short time. During its one-day existence, the Blood Beast is an Undying Existence!

Blood Beast Ability Two: Permanent Form (SS Rank, Passive Ability): When the Host merges with the Blood Beast, the Blood Beast may undergo a single transformation and assume any form. Once chosen, this form cannot be changed. The Blood Beast's Physical Attribute will be determined by the amount of blood used to create it and the form it assumes. Its Physical Attribute cannot be affected by any buffs or debuffs!

Blood Beast Ability Three: Blood Corrosion (SS Rank, Passive Ability): Every attack made by the Blood Beast carries a corrosive force. This force drastically weakens the target's defenses and inflicts tremendous damage. In a sense, the Blood Beast's attacks effectively ignore defense!

Blood Beast Skill Four: Blood Drain (S-Rank, Passive Ability): The Blood Beast is formed from condensed blood. Whenever it damages an enemy in battle, it inflicts a terrifying bleeding effect!

The Blood Beast ability was extremely powerful, but acquiring it prevented the user from obtaining any other abilities. Coupled with its stringent activation requirements, it was difficult to say whether this ability was a blessing or a curse.

One thing, however, was beyond doubt: once a Blood Beast took shape, its combat power was absolutely terrifying!

The Blood Beast, now merged with the Black-skinned Demonic Creature, immediately began to transform!

Thick, powerful limbs. Wings that seemed forged from metal. A fearsome draconic maw filled with razor-sharp fangs. Black scales gleaming with a faint sheen.

In mere moments, the Blood Beast had assumed Xing's form!

Clearly, after watching the battle for so long, the Black-skinned Demonic Creature had concluded that Xing's body was the perfect killing machine!

Permanent Form (SS Rank, Passive Ability) activated!

Of course, the ability only copied Xing's form. It did not grant the Blood Beast any of Xing's Skills!

Even so, that alone was terrifying enough!

The Blood Beast let out a thunderous roar and charged straight at Xing!

The moment Xing saw a creature identical to himself, he flew into a rage. His wings spread slightly as all four limbs exploded with power, launching his enormous body toward the Blood Beast like a cannonball!

In the blink of an eye, the two identical creatures slammed into each other!

"Boom!"

A deafening crash shook the entire battlefield.

Neither monster gave a single step after the initial collision. Claws and fangs flashed as they tore savagely into each other!

"It's incredibly strong!"

Wen Yu frowned as he watched the Blood Beast grapple with Xing.

What Wen Yu did not know, however, was that the Blood Beast's strength went far beyond what he could see!

Permanent Form (SS Rank, Passive Ability) had not merely replicated Xing's body. It had also copied the innate racial gifts Xing possessed as a member of the Divine Beast Species!

In other words, the Blood Beast in Xing's form was itself a complete member of the Divine Beast Species! Furthermore, it was completely unaffected by the suppression of the Dragon Might Domain!

Countless Demonic Creatures had died across the battlefield, including several Level 4 Demonic Creatures that had only just been slain. Under these circumstances, the Blood Beast's Physical Attribute had already risen to Xing's level!

A Physical Attribute of 600 Points, belonging to the Divine Beast Species!
