Volume 2: Battlefield Between Two Worlds

As the battle wore on, Wen Yu continued to adapt to the changes in his own strength.

In Wen Yu's sector, the battlefield fell into a brief lull, stunned by the deafening noise and vibrations.

"Hurry up! Move!" Wen Yu shouted to all the surviving Class Holders.

The two volleys of artillery had cut the Demon Disaster in half. This brief window of time was precious for everyone trapped in the thick of the fight!

One-Eye moved at top speed, diving directly into the densest clusters of monsters. Everywhere he passed, the Demonic Creatures were incinerated into ash by the demonic flames.

In another part of the battlefield, William was not to be outdone. His greatsword danced and swept, sending out flashes of sword light that cleared a large swathe of the battlefield.

With the powerhouses among the Class Holders showing their might and the monsters lacking reinforcements, the Demonic Creatures within the combat zone were rapidly eliminated.

When One-Eye bit the head off the last Salamander Demonic Creature, the battle reached a brief conclusion.

Wen Yu turned his gaze toward the area outside the city.

The Silver Moon Clan's bombardment had not stopped, but the end of the monster swarm was finally in sight.

The Demonic Creatures, fearless of death even knowing their reinforcements had been cut off, continued to launch suicidal attacks against the city walls.

Then, they were wiped out by the various weapons atop the city walls!

Seeing that the remaining Demonic Creatures had been cleared out by the wall's defenses, Wen Yu turned his attention to the spoils of war scattered across the ground.

He walked straight over to the Level 3 Bull Demon that Big Bear had killed. With a single swipe of his claws, Wen Yu sliced open the Bull Demon's skull and extracted the Magic Crystal from within.

The Magic Crystals of the Demon Race were of exceptionally high quality!

He immediately deactivated his Combat State and fed the Bull Demon's Magic Crystal to the Little Soul Beast.

One-Eye also scurried over to the side of a dead Level 3 Bull Demon and began tearing hungrily into the corpse. The flesh and blood of the Demon Race provided an even stronger evolutionary effect for Mutant Beasts than the flesh of Class Holders!

Seeing Wen Yu's actions, the other Class Holders snapped out of it and began their own frantic efforts to scavenge the corpses.

Wen Yu didn't care about maintaining the dignified air of an expert; he darted across the battlefield, snatching up Magic Crystals. While some required digging through corpses, the Demonic Creatures killed by One-Eye's Tyrannical Flame didn't need any digging at all-he could just pick the crystals up off the ground.

In less than ten minutes, the survivors had picked the battlefield clean of corpses.

Wen Yu carefully counted the Magic Crystals in his hand and couldn't help but smile. In that short span of time, no fewer than a thousand Demonic Creatures had died in this sector.

Seeing that most people were quietly absorbing their Magic Crystals, Wen Yu walked straight to the Exchange Pillar.

First, he exchanged his smaller crystals for five Level 3 Magic Crystals. He absorbed them immediately, raising his Physical Attribute to 55 Points.

Then, he checked his remaining Points.

Most of these had been provided by One-Eye. From this battle, it was clear that Wen Yu had still underestimated One-Eye's strength!

When they saw Wen Yu step away from the Exchange Pillar, the group immediately stepped forward, ready for their Promotion. The battle just now had provided them with more than enough Points to rank up!

"How are you doing?" Wen Yu asked, turning to Sun Aotian.

Sun Aotian gave a somewhat bitter smile. "After drinking the potion Jiang Wentao gave me, my injuries have fully healed, but my strength hasn't increased enough."

Sun Aotian's voice grew quieter as he spoke; he realized he was becoming a burden to Wen Yu.

"Go on. Exchange all your Points for Magic Crystals. Increase your strength as much as you can," Wen Yu told him. He then turned away, leaning against a corner of the wall to rest with his eyes closed.

"Something still isn't right…"

As he mentally reviewed the battle, Wen Yu made a new discovery regarding the Second Phase of the Treasure Land's Trial.
