Chapter 163 – Your Clothes Bursting Off Has No Appeal. Bad Review!
Amid the spray of muzzle fire, screams and startled cries immediately rose inside the carriage. Firebug emptied his magazine in one breath, then instantly ducked aside and pressed himself against the wall.
Before Su Lifeng could make the next hand signal, the female soldier rolled into the carriage through the chorus of curses. The instant she flipped over and knelt on one knee, one hand was already reaching toward the figures staggering in front of her.
“Crack, crack…”
The temperature inside the carriage dropped by several degrees at once. A layer of frost spread from where she stood at a speed visible to the naked eye, rapidly covering the floor and seats around her.
Those people had just been caught off guard by a burst of sweeping fire. In the next moment, the frost made their movements sluggish. But these people were indeed elite soldiers. Even under these circumstances, some of them reacted immediately and raised their gun muzzles at the female soldier.
The female soldier’s eyes chilled. She instantly lunged forward and rushed in front of him, throwing a punch toward the muzzle of his gun. Her punch was extremely fast, and with the distance so close, she almost managed to block the muzzle with her fist before he could fire.
The man’s wrist trembled, but his finger was still on the trigger. Before he could shoot, however, a surge of cold air froze the gun along with his hand. He felt his finger go numb. In the next moment, the female soldier had already seized the grip and twisted his entire arm along with it.
With a crack, the man immediately screamed as if his heart and lungs were being torn apart.
By then, another man had struggled up behind her. He raised his gun and aimed at the back of her head.
Whoosh!
In the next second, the man stared blankly as a figure slowly walked between him and the female soldier.
From the side, he looked like a young man who was not very old and did not resemble any elite soldier. But what truly filled the man’s vision was that streak of red, and the cold gleam that flashed past his eyes.
Plop.
A hand fell at his feet. The cut at the wrist was perfectly smooth, as if it had been sliced off after precise measurement.
After the figure walked past, the gun he had not yet had time to fire had already been picked up by the female soldier from beside his severed hand, its muzzle turned back toward him.
Bang!
Su Lifeng did not look back. If that female soldier could not even deal with a soldier whose hand had been cut off, then there would have been no need for him to save her.
His current target was locked onto the few figures supporting an officer as they moved toward the front carriage.
“These people obviously aren’t as ruthless as Lv Zifeng,” Su Lifeng thought.
As for Lv Zifeng’s methods, Su Lifeng could not really say whether he approved or disapproved. These struggles for power were unfamiliar to him. The only thing that moved him was that no matter how the world and humanity’s situation changed, this law of the jungle never would. And no one could say clearly whether this kind of interception was more brutal than before, or actually more restrained…
Time stop!
The soldiers had only just approached when Su Lifeng’s Bone Wings pierced through their bodies. In such a narrow environment, Su Lifeng’s advantage was instead brought fully into play.
“Mutant!” cried one of the men supporting the officer.
“Are you one of Lv Zifeng’s people? I can promise you, if you switch sides now, I’ll arrange a position for you…” After a brief hesitation, the officer immediately shouted.
Su Lifeng’s expression did not change. The single second of time stop had not yet passed. The other man’s words sounded to him as if they were coming through slow motion from a great distance, while the movements of the others charging toward him became incomparably clear in his eyes.
Puff!
One soldier fell. Another soldier who had just lifted his gun had his throat cut open as well…
Watching Su Lifeng close the distance rapidly with nothing but one precise, unnecessary-motion-free movement after another, the officer was clearly starting to panic. The man beside him said to the soldiers blocking the front, “Stop him!”
Those soldiers immediately stretched out their bodies. In an instant, some became as if they were military dogs, while others turned into something like enormous insects. As nonhuman features mutated across their bodies, their uniforms burst apart one after another.
“So they really are equipped with Mutants too. But what’s so interesting about men’s clothes bursting off…” Su Lifeng thought disdainfully.
The effect of time stop vanished. Immediately afterward, however, his Exoskeleton emerged.
If this was a contest of Mutant abilities alone, Su Lifeng truly did not fear anyone.
“Come on!” With one beat of his Bone Wings, Su Lifeng had already charged forward.
“Arrogant!” One brawny man, now more than two meters tall after mutating, blocked the front. A ruthless glint leaked from his yellowing eyes as he clenched his fist and met Su Lifeng’s left fist head-on.
This was simply a comparison between stone and egg. He could hardly wait to hear Su Lifeng’s hand bones shatter inch by inch, along with the bones of his arm.
Boom!
To his surprise, when the two wildly mismatched fists collided, what rang out was a heavy, thunderous thud.
Su Lifeng’s expression did not change. Then a soft crack came from his fist.
The brawny man, who had already frozen in surprise, immediately showed a hint of a smile. But that laugh had only just begun before he could no longer laugh at all.
The strange bone over Su Lifeng’s hand had merely split with a crack. But when Su Lifeng raised his head and looked at him, the man discovered in terror that starting from his own fist, his arm seemed to have all life drained from it in an instant. It swiftly withered into shriveled bone with only a layer of skin left over it.
“Ah, aah!” Even someone unafraid of death would scream at such an utterly horrifying sensation. For this brawny man, it might have been the longest moment of his life, but to Su Lifeng, he was only the first enemy. After a single glance at him, Su Lifeng had already turned his attention to the next person.
“Watch his hand! There’s something wrong with it!” This man keenly noticed the scene and immediately shouted. But in the next second he discovered that Su Lifeng had already rushed in front of him, a faint smile at the corner of his mouth as he said, “If you watch it, does that mean you can dodge?”
Puff!
A Bone Wing stabbed heavily into his neck. The man’s eyes bulged wide. Only a hoarse “heh, heh” came from his throat. Despair showed on his face, and his hand slowly stiffened as he tried to reach for his own neck. In the end, it still fell powerlessly.
First Firebug and then the female soldier had created opportunities for him. Once the distance was closed and they were denied any chance to use their guns, Su Lifeng was like a hungry wolf breaking into a flock of sheep. When it came to Mutants, one-on-one, Su Lifeng truly feared no one!
So what if they had combat ability? So what if they were good shots? Everything could be broken by absolute strength!
When his last punch smashed a Mutant soldier’s throat, and he watched that man’s face shrivel rapidly, Su Lifeng suddenly realized something.
For humanity, perhaps this was also a chance to break through its shackles and evolve again.
It was only that this forced method of evolution was a little too cruel…
