Chapter 81 – Children, Dinner Is Served!

The Black-skinned Demonic Creature's heart clenched as it looked at the misshapen Demon Seed beside it and the overwhelming tide of Baru Demons below.

No living beings understood just how terrifying the Baru Demons were better than the Demon Race themselves.

Glancing back at the Baru Demons still pouring forth in an endless stream, the Black-skinned Demonic Creature spoke in a trembling voice.

"My lord… surely this is enough troops…"

The Demon Seed gave it a strange look, then let out a series of shrill, piercing cackles.

"How could this possibly be enough?"

"I have at least a hundred times as many little darlings still waiting with empty stomachs!"

Between the piercing cackles and the ceaseless gurgling of the surrounding Baru Demons, an eerie atmosphere descended over the entire Demon City.

Until…

A small squad of Black-skinned Demonic Creatures surged out of the Demon Realm Gate.

Before this Cannon Fodder could even get a good look at the world they had entered, countless slick tongues shot out and coiled around them!

Then…

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, the entire squad of Black-skinned Demonic Creatures vanished without a trace!

Then an even more horrifying scene unfolded!

The body of a Level 2 Baru Demon that had devoured one of the Black-skinned Demonic Creatures suddenly began to heave. As if an enormous tumor were growing from it, a massive lump of flesh bulged from its side!

Then, amid the Baru Demon's cries, the lump burst open! A smaller, Level 1 Baru Demon split directly from the Level 2 Baru Demon's body!

This was how Baru Demons reproduced!

Given a single Baru Demon and an ample supply of food, it could multiply into a terrifying army in an incredibly short time!

The Black-skinned Demonic Creature swallowed hard as it watched the Baru Demons reproduce.

This terrifying species might not possess any supreme powerhouses or powerful Skill, but its grotesquely efficient method and speed of reproduction alone were enough to earn it a place among the strongest species of the Demon Race!

Beside it, the Demon Seed burst into unrestrained laughter!

"Another little darling… has joined the family!"

Wen Yu and Kuangliu naturally saw everything taking place inside the Demon City from outside its walls!

On the footage transmitted by the drone, the Blood Beast identical to Xing was restrained by countless slick tongues, then torn apart like a giant catfish pinned to a chopping board. Goosebumps instantly rose all over Wen Yu's skin!

Even Xing swallowed hard beside him.

"There's no fucking way we can fight that! Retreat!"

The reasoning was simple. If the Blood Beast could be restrained, then Xing definitely wouldn't be able to escape either!

Wen Yu could use the power of the Soul Realm to pull Xing back, but that would introduce far too many unpredictable variables. Besides, Wen Yu wouldn't be able to do anything else while he was at it!

Without Xing, there was no way Wen Yu, One-Eye, Faceless, and Kuangliu could make any meaningful impact!

Wen Yu immediately recalled One-Eye and Faceless, swung himself onto Xing's back, and pulled Kuangliu up behind him. Xing then spread his wings and soared into the sky!

Xing also felt that staying here to fight those giant lizards to the death was a terrible idea!

The Demon Seed inside the Demon City naturally noticed Xing's movements in the distance.

After pondering for a moment, the Demon Seed slowly spoke.

"That's one of the powerhouses from this world you told me about, isn't it?"

The Black-skinned Demonic Creature nodded.

"Let's go. We'll leave the city first. I can smell food outside…"

A chill ran through the Black-skinned Demonic Creature at those words.

By "food," the Demon Seed could only mean the Demonic Creature corpses scattered outside the city.

At the Demon Seed's command, the Baru Demon Legion immediately began to move!

The Baru Demon marched in neat, orderly ranks. It was hard to believe they were nothing more than mindless monsters!

Mounted on an enormous Baru Demon, the Demon Seed led the way out of the city. It looked at the slightly shriveled Demonic Creature corpses covering the ground and curled its lip.

"All the juices are gone… They won't taste nearly as good!"

Then, as if bored, it casually waved an arm.

Countless members of the Baru Demon species sensed the Demon Seed's command and sprang into action!

Slimy tongues lashed out one after another, wrapping around the shriveled Demonic Creature corpses and dragging them into waiting mouths to be devoured.

And feeding was followed by horrifying reproduction!

In mere moments, every corpse on the ground had been completely consumed, and several thousand more members of the Baru Demon species had appeared!

The Demon Seed closed its eyes and sensed the number of monsters around it. After a long moment, it nodded.

"This time, let's head farther ahead. You said part of the Demon Race already left for the city on the other side?"

"Yes, my lord!" the Black-skinned Demonic Creature replied respectfully.

The Demon Seed nodded.

"Then we can't let them go to waste!"

"My children!"

A tremendous wave of sound erupted from the Demon Seed's mouth, proving that it was nowhere near as weak as it appeared!

It surveyed the innumerable Baru Demon all staring at it in unison and nodded in satisfaction.

"Time to eat!"

A chorus of perfectly synchronized croaks rang out as the Monster Legion rushed straight toward the Outpost!

Behind them, more Baru Demon continued pouring endlessly from the black hole!

The Serpent Demon Seed's self-destruction had brought a terrifying species onto the battlefield of the Outpost Battle!

A species of apex predators whose numbers made even a swarm of locusts seem inadequate by comparison!

Xing was fast, much faster than the Baru Demon pursuing from behind!

After all, the massive ranks of the Baru Demon included quite a few low-level monsters, and they dragged down the entire Baru Demon Legion's marching speed!

Of course, the same was true of the Demonic Creature Legion led by the Ancient Demon, which had set out for the Outpost ahead of them.

The moment Xing took flight, Kuangliu pulled out his communicator and contacted the Outpost for intelligence!

Wen Yu and Kuangliu could observe what was happening inside Demon City through the drones, and the commanders at the Outpost could see it as well!

Of course, they still hadn't worked out a concrete response.
