Chapter 16 – Chaos at the Police Station

Volume 1: Apocalypse Beginning

A gust of wind swept by, lifting a pile of scattered trash and tattered scraps of clothing.

Ever since Wen Yu had heard news about the Police Station, he hadn't cared that night had fallen, and rushed swiftly toward the Police Station.

In a non-Combat State, with physical abilities three times that of a normal person, Wen Yu possessed unparalleled speed. Sprinting through the city, Wen Yu rediscovered a long-lost sense of freedom.

"As expected, in this world, only the strong have the right to talk about freedom and life."

Recalling everything that had happened since the beginning of the Apocalypse-whether it was the invitation from the Guardian Squad or the thrill of having just become the Ruler of someone's life and death-Wen Yu couldn't help but sink deeper into it.

The closer he got to the Police Station, the more bloodstains appeared on the ground. Blood splattered everywhere, clearly telling everyone that a terrifying battle had taken place here.

Countless Zombies were about to burst the doors of the Police Station, but their opponents-a large group of Giant Rats that had taken over the Police Station-were instead leaping nimbly among the Zombies.

With their gray, dusty fur, the unevolved Zombies couldn't get a grip on them. The agile bodies of the rats made fools of the Zombies, causing chaos. Not only did the rats evade capture, but they also knocked down nearby Zombies, and once a Zombie fell, it could never get up again.

These Giant Rats were the size of house cats, and their mutated incisors frantically tore at the rotting flesh of the Zombies.

Though the taste was poor, the virus in Zombie flesh was an essential nutrient for the evolution of mutant creatures.

It was obvious that the severed limbs and remains on the ground were being gnawed on by a large group of newly evolved rats. The food they couldn't finish was dragged by the rats into the Police Station. Judging by the bloodstains at the entrance, there must have been at least eight hundred or a thousand Zombies that had fallen there, but now, aside from the bloodstains, there were hardly any corpses left.

Wen Yu stood at a vantage point, carefully observing the surroundings.

Clearly, such a massive Zombie horde could not have formed naturally. No matter how much commotion there was in the Police Station, it couldn't have attracted Zombies on this scale.

Most were just newly mutated, lacking potential, stuck between ordinary creatures and Level 1 Mutant Creatures, becoming awkward Level 0 Mutant Creatures.

If Wen Yu could position himself well, fighting while retreating, and with the F-Rank Protective Suit as armor,

The entire Police Station's Mutant Rats could definitely allow Wen Yu to reach the peak of Level 1 Class Holder, with a physical attribute of 10, ensuring he could make a fortune in the Treasure Land of Riverside Park.
