Volume 2: Battlefield Between Two Worlds

As Wen Yu's injuries healed, Sun Ruixing and William also applied ointment to their wounds and wrapped them in bandages.

With the supply of Healing Potions dwindling, they were forced to treat minor injuries using primitive methods.

One-Eye, who had been standing guard outside, quickly ran to Wen Yu's side. He stared intently at the vibrating rocks in front of them, letting out constant low growls.

One-Eye sensed danger!

Wen Yu stared seriously at the constantly trembling rock piles and shouted to everyone.

"Go! Let's get out of here!"

This place was eerie and unpredictable, and for some reason, the enemy had yet to appear.

Since that was the case, Wen Yu saw no reason to wait around for a threat from an unknown source!

"Jie jie jie jie… Run? Where do you think you can run?"

An evil, shrill voice rang out from atop the Umbrella-shaped Rock where the group had set up their Campsite!

As the voice fell, everyone felt the ground beneath them tremble. Then, a deep gray Light Curtain enveloped the rock piles, trapping everyone inside!

Seeing the flying dust hit the Light Curtain and instantly emit a crackling, popping sound, everyone stopped in their tracks.

This thing clearly possessed offensive capabilities; no one was willing to step forward and experience it firsthand.

"So, are you satisfied with the gift I just gave you?"

The unknown Demonic Creature had barely finished speaking when a commotion broke out among the crowd!

A Class Holder standing behind the group suddenly drew his Steel Blade and slashed viciously at his teammate. 

The attack was so sudden that no one had time to react!

Blood sprayed everywhere. The unexpected strike killed the targeted Class Holder on the spot!

"Don't kill him! Pin him down!"

The voice actually belonged to Princess Consort Fina.

Chu Ziling's flaming fist had just reached the assailant's face. Hearing the words of Princess Consort Fina, the flames on his fist vanished instantly. He shifted his grip into a claw and, relying on his far superior Physical Attribute, directly dislocated both of the man's arms.

At that moment, the explanation from Princess Consort Fina reached their ears.

"This is the innate talent of the Nightmare Demon race: Mental Control (A-Rank, Active Ability). It can only control creatures one level lower than itself, and it can only control one weak-willed unit at a time. If you kill him, the Nightmare Demon will be able to use this ability again immediately."

Wen Yu nodded silently. This explained why only Basong had launched a suicide attack earlier!

"Jie-jie-jie-jie! As expected of the Silver Moon Clan, who have fought against our Demon Race for so many years. A pity… what a pity…"

As the voice faded, the figure of the Nightmare Demon slowly emerged from atop the Umbrella-shaped Rock.

It was a thin, humanoid creature clad in a black robe. The hands protruding from beneath the robe were covered in wrinkles, looking like dead tree bark.

The head exposed outside the robe was as blurry as a mass of black mist; only two green dots could be seen, flickering with a terrifying light.

Even a Level 2 Class Holder would feel their mind tremble upon meeting the Nightmare Demon's gaze.

"Hey, tell me, why are you always so slow?"

The Nightmare Demon spoke again, but this time, it wasn't addressing Wen Yu and the others. Instead…

It was speaking to the pile of rocks beneath it!

"It's not… that I… don't want… to be fast… but… I just can't… move quickly…"

A low, heavy voice rumbled from the rocks beneath the Nightmare Demon. To everyone's shock, the Umbrella-shaped Rock suddenly began to transform!

The trembling rocks in the vicinity flew rapidly toward the Umbrella-shaped Rock, adhering firmly to its surface.

As more and more rocks gathered, the Umbrella-shaped Rock expanded rapidly. Before long, a massive figure appeared before them!

It was an earthy-yellow Stone Giant! It stood nearly twenty meters tall, looking down upon everyone on the ground.

And the Nightmare Demon was standing right on the Stone Giant's shoulder!

Seeing the mountain-like Demonic Creature before him, Wen Yu's heart sank further and further!

The pressure these two Demonic Creatures exerted together was almost equal to that of the Ancient Demon!

"Jie-jie-jie-jie."

The Nightmare Demon's eerie laughter rang out once more.

"I heard that idiot Balo was killed by you? Truly a job well done. That fool dared to look down on me just because he was an Ancient Demon."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Thinking he could complete this mission independently with just three or five grunts. I must say, a brain is a wonderful thing to have. Brainless things are better off dead as soon as possible!"

"You're… cursing me… for being brainless… again…" the Stone Demon beneath it said in a low voice, though its tone lacked any emotional fluctuation.

"You idiot, I was talking about Balo, not you!"

"See… you're calling me… an idiot again… I'm not stupid… just… my reactions… are a bit slow…"

"…"

The Nightmare Demon wisely chose to end the conversation there.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Resas of the great Nightmare Demon race. I have come here today to take all of your lives."

"Jie-jie-jie! So, will you die? Or will you die? Or… will you die!"

As the Nightmare Demon finished speaking, a massive fireball surged directly toward the group!

Flame Burst (Rank B, Active Ability): Launches a massive fireball that creates a violent explosion upon hitting any target!

Just as Resas unleashed the Flame Burst, the Stone Demon beneath him also launched an attack.

The Stone Demon's method of attack was very simple: it took a great stride forward and smashed its fist down!

It was a simple method, but combined with its massive size and ferocious power, everyone immediately realized it was not something they could withstand head-on!

This was the advantage of giant creatures!

Generally speaking, the larger the size, the greater the strength.

With the Stone Demon's immense power, a fist the size of a car slammed directly into the spot where the group had been standing.

Once for the Flame Burst, and once for the Stone Demon's heavy strike!

The coordination between the Stone Demon and the Nightmare Demon was incredibly seamless. The two attacks had directly covered everyone's positions!

As dust filled the air, a figure emerged, carrying Princess Consort Fina in his arms.

It was William.

Following William's lead, figures scattered in all directions.

The Class Holders who had made it this far were neither weak nor foolish.

Facing these two artillery-like enemies, spreading out was the best option!

When the dust finally settled, only two massive craters remained, along with three corpses!
