Chapter 58 – Open

Volume 2: Battlefield Between Two Worlds

Following the direction of the Pointer, Wen Yu led the group toward the center of Chaihe Town.

The direction indicated by the Pointer happened to lead straight to the Chaihe Town Hospital.

"No wonder this key hasn't been used yet. So it was hidden here!" Zang Pengfei stood beside Wen Yu, exclaiming with a sigh.

This place was the Zombie King's territory!

"Let's go. Let's head further in and see."

As Wen Yu moved closer, the Pointer in his hand began to wobble erratically. Finally, he came to a halt.

"This is it."

Looking at the Chaihe Town Hospital before him, Wen Yu let out a soft sigh. They were standing right at the hospital's main entrance.

Just as Wen Yu was fiddling with the Pointer, a notification rang out in his mind.

"Ding! Entrance to a Treasure Land discovered. Would you like to open it?"

Without hesitation, Wen Yu answered in his mind, "Open."

Following his response, the Pointer in his hand suddenly exploded. Then, the space in front of him rippled, and a beam of silver light shot directly into the sky.

The silver light erupting from the Treasure Land was so blinding that Wen Yu couldn't open his eyes. Once he finally adjusted, the scene before him left him dumbfounded.

What appeared before everyone was an entrance to a Treasure Land, but this entrance was excessively large.

Nearly a hundred meters in diameter, it pulsed with a silver glow. Wen Yu had to crane his neck back just to catch a glimpse of the Silver Vortex at the center of the entrance.

"This… this…"

Standing to the side, Zang Pengfei stared at the Treasure Land entrance in shock before glancing back at Wen Yu. Given the scale of this entrance, every living person in Chaihe Town would be able to see it. His two Magic Crystals had truly gone to waste!

Wen Yu barely managed to suppress the shock in his heart. He swept a glance over Zang Pengfei and the crowd behind him, then reached out and touched the entrance.

With a flash of light, Wen Yu's figure vanished.

Sun Ruixing, ignoring everyone else, followed immediately after Wen Yu into the Treasure Land.

Seeing how quickly the two had reacted, Zang Pengfei snapped out of it and immediately ordered the Class Holders behind him to line up and enter.

A Treasure Land of this level could certainly accommodate a significant number of people. Wen Yu had only entered first to seize the initiative.

As the dizziness from the teleportation gradually faded, Wen Yu slowly opened his eyes.

What appeared before him was a circular Light Shield glowing with white light. It was like a Giant Egg, completely enveloping Wen Yu inside.

The space wasn't large, only enough to hold Wen Yu alone.

He moved his body slightly and felt no restriction, but when he poked the wall of light in front of him, he felt immense resistance. He couldn't get out on his own!

At that moment, a notification from within the Treasure Land rang in Wen Yu's ears.

"Ding! Welcome, Survivor, to the Super Treasure Land."

"This is a competitive Treasure Land. All Survivors who enter are in a competitive relationship!"

"When a Survivor needs to leave the Treasure Land, please crush the Teleportation Jade and think the word 'Teleportation' in your mind. You will be teleported directly out of the Treasure Land."

As the voice finished speaking, a simple jade pendant fell directly in front of Wen Yu.

"This must be the Teleportation Jade."

Wen Yu grabbed the Teleportation Jade and cautiously placed it into his Spatial Ring.

After that, there was total silence.

Wen Yu waited and waited. After about three minutes, he finally lost his patience.

"What's going on? Where's the Guardian? Guardian! You're just going to leave me here? Is this big shell supposed to be the Super Treasure Land?"

Wen Yu's words echoed back and forth within the "Giant Egg" he was trapped in, until a lazy voice finally rang out by his ear.

"I'm right here. Stop shouting, you're making enough noise to wake the dead. How did someone so impatient ever become a Sequence?"

"I can't even get a decent nap!"

As the voice faded, a silver-haired youth phased directly into the Giant Egg and stood before Wen Yu.

He looked to be about fifteen years old. His silver hair, dusted with shimmering light, was exceptionally dazzling. Large silver rings hung from his ears, nose, and even his lips, and he wore a set of glittering golden clothes.

He looked exactly like a 'smart' punk!

Wen Yu looked the Treasure Land Guardian up and down. Seeing the kid let out a massive yawn, Wen Yu's expression instantly soured.

"Tell me, are all you Treasure Land Guardians like this? Do you realize you're trampling all over your own professional ethics?"

The punk youth didn't react to Wen Yu's sarcasm at all. With a wave of his hand, the Giant Egg instantly doubled in size.

Then, he pulled a large chair directly out of the space in front of him and sat down comfortably.

"If you have something to say, say it quickly. I don't have time to waste on your nonsense. I'm a busy man; the only reason I'm even seeing you is out of respect for your status as a Sequence."

At this point, Wen Yu understood completely. These Treasure Land Guardians were essentially high-level bureaucrats who acted like entitled 'uncles.' If it weren't for the Ruler's constraints, these guys wouldn't give a damn whether you were a Sequence or not.

No longer bothering with this "incompetent" Treasure Land Guardian, Wen Yu asked directly, "What's the situation here? Why can't I leave?"

The Guardian gave Wen Yu a look of disdain and spoke bluntly. "Because things aren't ready yet, obviously. There are still people who haven't entered. How could I possibly let you out?"

"Who else are we waiting for?"

"Heh, this is a top-tier Super Treasure Land. Do you think it would open specifically for you? You just got a bit lucky and happened to get a Treasure Land Key. Just wait a while; it won't be long."

Hearing the Guardian's words, Wen Yu fell into a sudden silence.

After contemplating for a long time, Wen Yu spat out two simple words: "How many?"

"How many what?"

The Guardian's expression turned serious upon hearing Wen Yu's question.

Seeing the Guardian's reaction, Wen Yu actually smiled. He had guessed correctly!

"I mean, how many other Sequences?"

Judging by the fact that Wen Yu could summon the controller of a Treasure Land just by shouting, the authority of a Sequence within a Treasure Land was quite high.

There was absolutely no reason to make a Sequence like Wen Yu wait for Ordinary People. The only ones who could justify making Wen Yu wait were other human Sequences!

The Silver-haired Guardian looked at the expression of certainty on Wen Yu's face, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

"Not bad. At least you have a brain; I suppose that Sequence title hasn't gone to waste! Including you, there are already three Sequences who have entered!"

"So, what else can you tell me?"

The Silver-haired Guardian pondered for a moment before slowly speaking.

"I don't have much intel, but I can give you a brief rundown on the matters between Sequences."
