Chapter 107 – Witness Me

There was no way to say whether the decision was right or wrong, or whether Fang Wenhai and the tactical commander had judged the situation correctly.

But for now, their plan was the remaining Warriors' only hope-the final lifeline of the entire Outpost.

Fang Wenhai's communicator rang again.

"This is Kuangliu. I have Wen Yu's group in sight. Wen Yu should be able to return to the Outpost in five minutes."

"Understood. Tell him to move faster…"

Fang Wenhai clenched his fist. He gave Kuangliu a brief account of the current situation, then ended the call.

Every report he had received since the battle began had been bad. Now two pieces of good news had arrived almost at once. He could not keep the excitement from rising inside him.

After ending the call, Fang Wenhai looked directly east.

A Level 5 Peak Bipedal Lizard nearly sixty meters long was moving slowly through the city, occasionally snatching a Class Holder into its mouth.

Two Demonic Creatures stood atop its head, barely visible as tiny black specks.

Fang Wenhai's orders passed down the chain. In less than a minute, they reached a building near the Central Castle.

Nearly thirty people were packed inside the small room.

This was the Suicide Squad established by the Military within the Outpost Treasure Land.

After receiving their objective and equipment, the Class Holder at their head signaled to the others. The soldiers, wearing ranks of every kind, drew their weapons and rushed from the room.

Outside the door, a newly born Level 4 Bipedal Lizard was devouring a Military Warrior's corpse.

The creatures had reached this far in only a short time.

When the lead soldier saw the large swelling slowly rising from the Bipedal Lizard's body, he drew an enormous Hand Cannon from his Spatial Ring.

BOOM!

Flame flashed at the muzzle, and the Level 4 Bipedal Lizard's head exploded.

The soldier showed no reaction after killing it. He did not even stop to dig out its Magic Crystal. He simply advanced east at full speed.

Nearly thirty Class Holders followed close behind.

Every member of the unit was Level 4.

If they had not possessed such strength, the Military would never have tolerated these troublemakers and criminals continuing to wear their ranks.

"Our objective is to break through the Bipedal Lizards blocking the eastern district and kill our way to the largest one. Everyone, this is our chance to make amends!"

The Captain's words drove every member of the Suicide Squad to move even faster.

Roughly thirty Level 4 Class Holders plunged into the vast Bipedal Lizard swarm like the point of a knife.

Some had committed unforgivable wrongs. Others had violated military law. Anyone spared execution and assigned to the Suicide Squad under those circumstances was anything but weak.

The size difference between the Human Race and the Bipedal Lizards also worked in their favor. As the squad advanced, only a small number of creatures could attack them at once. When the soldiers focused their attacks, their combined power was enough to kill a Level 5 Bipedal Lizard in a short time.

They covered several kilometers without encountering any serious obstruction.

The Demon Seed naturally noticed their advance.

It understood its own combat ability perfectly well.

Its species was not powerful in direct combat. Even with its status as a Demon Seed, its individual strength could not match an ordinary Level 5 creature.

That meant a Suicide Squad capable of killing Level 5 Bipedal Lizards could kill it as well.

After a moment's thought, the Demon Seed released a mental pulse.

The nearby Bipedal Lizards stirred. Every creature in the eastern half of the Outpost abandoned its current target at once. They ignored the attacks striking their bodies and crawled rapidly toward the Suicide Squad.

BOOM!

An enormous bullet struck a Level 5 Bipedal Lizard squarely in the head.

Amid flame and thunder, dozens of offensive Skills slammed into the creature and extinguished its life in an instant.

But there were too many Bipedal Lizards.

A slick tongue coiled around the last Class Holder in the formation. Before he could react, more tongues wrapped around him and wrenched him into the air.

Blood blossomed above the street like a brilliant flower.

Then the flower withered.

War always demanded sacrifice.

It took the Suicide Squad several minutes and more than a dozen lives to cross the few remaining streets and fight its way near the Demon Seed.

There, they found it encircled by layer upon layer of guards.

The Demon Seed sat high atop the head of the Level 5 Peak Bipedal Lizard, looking down upon the humans like a king surrounded by countless loyal soldiers.

A cold sneer touched his lips as he regarded the "ants" below.

"Kill them!"

Perhaps he wanted the humans to feel a deeper despair. Perhaps he meant to display his resolve and irresistible will.

Whatever the reason, he shouted the words in Chinese.

With the Demon Seed's power, learning a "foreign language" was hardly difficult.

The Bipedal Lizards naturally could not understand Chinese, but that did not prevent them from receiving the mental pulse embedded in the command.

The creatures around the Demon Seed moved.

The first group to attack was not especially large. Their immense bodies occupied too much space for that. Even so, nearly a hundred charged-and a continuous stream of "Reinforcements" was still pouring in from behind.

The dozen or so surviving members of the Suicide Squad fell silent.

Their Captain spoke calmly.

"One bad decision of mine sent an entire regiment to its death beneath the claws of Mutant Beasts. Every day and every night, the souls of those who died because of me have tormented me…"

He looked at the swarm ahead.

"Now the time has come for my redemption. What about you?"

A voice answered from behind him.

"Yeah, time for redemption. Though I prefer to call it atonement…"

A Burly Man charged straight at the oncoming Bipedal Lizards.

"So witness me!"

Before the words had finished echoing, he armed the Micro-Nuke in his hands.

BOOM!

The weapon detonated. The Academy of Sciences had heavily modified the scarce Micro-Nuke, and it erupted in blinding white light before flames surged into the sky. The surrounding Bipedal Lizards were hurled away.

From the inferno, a white Light Shield burst through the smoke and blast wave, racing straight toward the Demon Seed.

Unstoppable!
