Chapter 128 – An Almost Unbeatable Demon Seed!

Volume 3: Rising Winds and Clouds

The Ancient Demon Seed watched Xing and Wen Yu persist with their useless attacks, its eyes filled with mocking amusement.

Wen Yu had no idea what kind of monster he was facing.

Dimensional Sanctuary (SS Rank, Active Ability): Consumes a large quantity of stamina upon activation to create a dimensional space visible only to the Host. The dimensional space affects only the Host. While the Host remains inside the Dimensional Sanctuary, observers in the outside world can see the Host's body but cannot launch any form of attack against the Host. Note: detection Abilities above SS Rank-not including SS Rank-used by a being at the Host's level can detect the entrance to the Dimensional Sanctuary. Spatial attack Abilities above SS Rank-not including SS Rank-used by a being at the Host's level can strike the Host inside the Dimensional Sanctuary. A Foundation Rank attack Skill used by a being at the Host's level can completely destroy the Dimensional Sanctuary. A maximum of three Dimensional Sanctuaries may be created. Duration: one Earth day.

With that Ability protecting it, Wen Yu's and Xing's attacks were completely useless. The Demon Seed did not need to expend any further stamina at all.

It was an extraordinarily powerful life-preservation Ability.

…

The Vehicle Convoy led by Kuangliu traveled farther and farther away. Wen Yu gradually stopped attacking.

He had realized that everything he had done for so long was pointless.

Xing stopped breathing Dragon Flame and slowly returned to Wen Yu's side.

One-Eye's body also grew larger and quickly entered his Battle Form.

"What? Finished attacking?"

The Ancient Demon Seed spoke clear Chinese in a resonant voice, every syllable perfectly enunciated.

Wen Yu shook his head slightly.

"If I can't hit you, there's no reason to keep attacking."

"A wise choice. Then is it my turn?"

The Ancient Demon Seed made a slight gesture toward Wen Yu, apparently some form of Demon Realm etiquette.

Then…

It vanished.

…

Teleportation (S-Rank, Active Ability): Alters spatial position, allowing the Host to appear elsewhere. Stamina consumption depends on the distance traveled.

It was a familiar Ability, and one Wen Yu desperately wanted.

Unfortunately, it always seemed to belong to his enemies.

This Ancient Demon Seed's mastery of Teleportation far surpassed that of the Black-Robed Man Wen Yu had encountered before.

The instant the Ancient Demon Seed vanished, Wen Yu reacted and sent out a rapid mental wave.

"Scatter immediately! Xing, activate every Skill!"

Xing's Dragon Might Domain harmed friend and foe alike. Under ordinary circumstances, Wen Yu was unwilling to let Xing unleash his full power nearby. Having his Physical Attribute abruptly reduced and every Skill weakened along with it felt extremely unpleasant.

But this was clearly no ordinary situation.

Unfortunately, Wen Yu was still too late.

…

The instant Wen Yu's mental wave finished transmitting, the Ancient Demon Seed appeared directly above Xing.

Xing reacted immediately to its sudden appearance. He skipped thought entirely and activated Dragon Might Domain and Dragon Blood Amplification. Every scale covering his body exploded outward, sweeping furiously through the space around the Ancient Demon Seed.

However…

Armor-Shattering Storm (S-Rank) did not inflict the slightest damage.

Spatial Stasis (SSS-Rank, Active Ability): Creates an area of completely frozen space within a certain range around the Host. Every object inside it other than the Host enters a state of absolute stasis. Once activated, this Skill consumes a large quantity of stamina every second.

Note: absolute strength can break this state.

An indescribable force spread through the surrounding space. The dragon scales speeding toward the Ancient Demon Seed froze in midair. Even part of Xing's body became completely immobile under Spatial Stasis.

Xing's Physical Attribute was at the early stage of Level 5. The gap between him and this Ancient Demon Seed at Level 5 Peak was considerable.

Even accounting for the simultaneous weakening and strengthening produced by Dragon Might Domain and Dragon Blood Amplification, Xing's current Physical Attribute did not reach the level of absolute strength required to break Spatial Stasis.

Perhaps Xing could break free once he reached Level 5 Peak, but right now, he truly could not.

The Ancient Demon Seed raised a claw toward Xing.

…

Dimensionality Reduction Strike (SSS-Rank, Active Ability): Imbues the attacking body part with an eerie spatial force that performs a "dimensionality reduction" upon the area struck-turning three dimensions into two and transforming a three-dimensional solid into a two-dimensional, paperlike form. Dimensionality Reduction Strike cannot penetrate a Foundation Rank defensive Skill, but completely ignores every defensive Ability below the Foundation Rank.

The palm radiating an eerie sheen struck Xing directly on the head.

Half of Xing's skull instantly flattened like a painting, with his eye, nostril, and other organs still clearly visible upon it. Combined with the intact half of his head, the result was grotesque and terrifying.

"ROAR!"

A frenzied roar erupted from Xing's mouth. Berserk Dragon Flame sprayed in every direction, but every plume froze in the space around the Ancient Demon Seed.

Attack… useless.

Defense… impossible.

The confrontation between the Ancient Demon Seed and Xing was nothing more than an overwhelmingly simple display of Skills.

It was suppression produced by superior Physical Attribute and Skill configuration.

If Xing had reached Level 5 Peak, he could unquestionably have fought this Ancient Demon Seed. At his current level, however, he could only be crushed.

…

Xing was Wen Yu's strongest visible combat force. His battle instincts and reaction speed were far beyond anything Wen Yu could hope to match.

And everything had happened too quickly-far too quickly.

Before Wen Yu could even leave the range of Xing's Dragon Might Domain, he heard Xing's agonized cry behind him.

At the same time, a mental wave raced into Wen Yu's mind.

"Boss! Hurry and save me! Hurry…"

Wen Yu spun around and immediately saw the enormous, unnatural wound on Xing's head.

The light around the Ancient Demon Seed's hand flared again before slashing down.

But this Dimensionality Reduction Strike hit empty air.

Wen Yu had already recalled Xing into the Soul Realm Space.

A Divine Beast Species possessed incredible power and terrifying vitality. Despite the grievous wound to his head, Xing did not die on the spot, and Wen Yu managed to pull him back.

Watching the unknown force within Xing's wound rapidly expelled by the Soul Realm Space, Wen Yu let out a heavy breath.

"Just in time."
