Chapter 138 – Invincible and Dimensionality Reduction Strike!

Spatial Stasis (SSS-Rank, Active Ability): Creates an area of completely frozen space around the Host. Every object within it, other than the Host, will enter a state of absolute stasis. Once activated, this Ability consumes a vast amount of stamina every second.

This Ability had once completely frozen Xing's movements and attack, even while the Ancient Demon Seed was weakened by Dragon Might Domain. Kuangliu stood even less of a chance now.

Sensing both his attack and his body come to a complete halt, the Berserk light in Kuangliu's eyes intensified. Lightning erupted all over him as he tried to smash through Spatial Stasis with absolute force.

It was completely useless.

In the next instant, the Ancient Demon Seed's white-lit claw struck Kuangliu's body.

An ear-piercing creak echoed back and forth through the cramped Barrier. The mysterious forces attached to the two Skills had entered into the most direct kind of conflict.

A transparent membrane of light appeared around Kuangliu and met the Ancient Demon Seed's Dimensionality Reduction Strike head-on.

The membrane twisted violently. Strange streams of Black Light flickered over its surface. Then the invisible barrier formed by Invincible began to crack like glass, and shards of light scattered in every direction.

Invincible could not withstand Dimensionality Reduction Strike.

Invincible was a defensive Ability-an entirely impartial, purely defensive Ability. It could also be understood as an extraordinarily powerful shield fitted tightly around the Host's body.

Against Abilities below SS Rank, Invincible would protect its user for exactly ten seconds, just as its description promised.

But against attack Skills of SSS Rank or above, the duration of that protection became uncertain.

Judged solely by its offensive effect, Dimensionality Reduction Strike was undoubtedly among the most powerful and terrifying attack Abilities in existence. It was also an SSS-Rank Ability, one full rank above Invincible, while the Ancient Demon Seed's current Physical Attribute was slightly higher than Kuangliu's as well.

The Ancient Demon Seed had therefore expected Invincible to fail against Dimensionality Reduction Strike.

In fact, among all the targets it had attacked in the past, not one Skill had ever successfully defended against the power of Dimensionality Reduction Strike.

Completely frozen by Spatial Stasis, Kuangliu watched the Ancient Demon Seed's claw tear open Invincible. Disbelief flashed through his eyes, but he immediately cast Invincible again.

This time, when the defensive shield created by Invincible shattered completely, it also canceled out the silver light around the Ancient Demon Seed's claw.

The razor-sharp claw then plunged into Kuangliu's abdomen, ripping out a torrent of blood and severed intestines. Still trapped in stasis, Kuangliu activated Invincible once more.

It took two uses of Invincible to withstand a single Dimensionality Reduction Strike. Worse still, Kuangliu was trapped within Spatial Stasis. He could cast Skills, but he could not move so much as a finger. He had become nothing more than a living target capable of activating Skills.

Sensing the "formidable" defensive power of Invincible around Kuangliu, the Ancient Demon Seed curled its lips into a savage grin. One hand quickly crushed an Isolation Barrier, while another rose again, silver light flickering over it.

Kuangliu's Invincible had no cooldown.

Neither did the Ancient Demon Seed's Dimensionality Reduction Strike.

The exchange between Kuangliu and the Ancient Demon Seed had ended in the space of a few short moments. All the others saw was Kuangliu's torn abdomen and motionless body. The blood spilling from his wound stopped the instant it left his body, hanging frozen in midair.

The Ancient Demon Seed was the only thing that could move within the entire area. Grinning savagely, it raised another scale-covered arm.

Victory and defeat had already been decided.

And the Ancient Demon Seed still held nearly ten Isolation Barriers.

"Hurry! Hurry!"

Covered in blood and burn marks, Fang Wenhai roared as he attacked the Isolation Barrier with all his strength.

All he could do now was pray that Kuangliu could hold on a little longer.

Otherwise, Kuangliu would undoubtedly die.

The thought of the upheaval Kuangliu's death would cause within the Military made Fang Wenhai even more desperate. His blows grew heavier still.

Unfortunately, events would never bend to the will of the weak.

Whether Kuangliu lived or died was entirely up to the Ancient Demon Seed.

Its raised arm slammed down. The silver light around it carried a dense aura of death as it descended upon Kuangliu's head.

The mysterious forces attached to Dimensionality Reduction Strike and Invincible detonated repeatedly within the cramped space. Two uses of Kuangliu's Invincible could withstand one Dimensionality Reduction Strike from the Ancient Demon Seed.

And so the most direct contest began.

It was a contest of remaining stamina.

Of the Ancient Demon's four arms, one held the Isolation Barriers. Silver light flashed ceaselessly over the other three as they hammered at the motionless Kuangliu.

The thick arms left trails of afterimages in the air. A dense barrage of cracks erupted around Kuangliu as he endured the attacks head-on. His eyes were tightly shut, his teeth clenched, and he cast Invincible again and again.

There was nothing else he could do.

The silver light around the Ancient Demon Seed grew brighter and brighter, while the cracking around Kuangliu came faster and faster. Claire, who had been bombarding the Isolation Barrier, suddenly stopped her attack. She turned and launched an assault upon the Ancient Demon Seed instead.
