Chapter 232 – Even Lambs Can Overturn Leopards

“We made it out…”

“We’re alive…”

As they walked out of the Amusement Park gates, nearly everyone was moved to tears.

Some covered their faces and cried, their bodies trembling uncontrollably as they failed to manage their emotions.

When they had initially entered the Amusement Park, excited and following the crowd with their friends and family, they never imagined that it would take half a year to come out again.

In and out, the world had completely changed.

Empty streets, car wrecks everywhere, dilapidated buildings…

If it weren’t for the presence of others, they might have inevitably wondered:

Is this world… dead?

The nearby Zombies had long been lured away by Black Silk, who was now leading them in circles among distant buildings.

Though the distance exceeded 1,500 meters, it was still within Ling Mo’s control range, albeit with a considerable drain on his Psychic Power.

After a moment of excitement, the Survivors came back to their senses and gathered around Ling Mo’s group, expressing their gratitude.

Ling Mo immediately gave an awkward smile, while Ye Lian and the three girls silently stepped aside.

They were not used to being surrounded by people. No matter how much their Intelligence and memories had recovered, their Zombie nature remained unchanged.

“Alright, this isn’t a safe place to stay for long. Let’s find somewhere to settle down first,” Ling Mo said.

“Yes, let’s talk later. It’s getting dark soon.”

“And everyone is very tired, finding a place to rest is the priority.”

Upon hearing Ling Mo, Bai Yu and Zhang Jie quickly stopped the crowd, knowing that the real challenge was just beginning.

Ling Mo, while switching his vision to Black Silk, led the group across the desolate road towards the buildings on the other side.

Through Black Silk’s perspective, he could clearly see the situation ahead, making his guidance seamless.

“Earlier, when we came through here, we passed a Community with a few small supermarkets. I believe it should be enough to support you for a while. Water might be a bit scarce, but if you’re willing to search, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue,” Ling Mo said casually.

There were only about a dozen of them, so a Community with dozens of residential buildings would be more than enough to sustain them.

Whether it was food or weapons, as long as they had the courage, they could find what they needed.

Also, maneuvering through complex buildings to avoid Zombies was much safer than getting surrounded in open spaces.

“What are your plans for the future?” Ling Mo asked Bai Yu, falling a few steps behind.

A determined look flashed in Bai Yu’s eyes. “We barely made it out… of course, we have to survive! No matter what, we will do everything we can to stay alive!”

Though Zhang Jie still couldn’t walk on her own, her injuries seemed to have improved a lot.

The Zombie Potion was indeed powerful; its healing capabilities were almost freakish.

It seemed that as long as the injuries weren’t fatal, they could recover well. However, the long-term effects on the human body were still unknown.

“I feel the same way. I will survive too,” Zhang Jie said with a slight smile.

“Looks like you’re both mentally prepared,” Ling Mo nodded and continued, “I have a suggestion, but it might take a long time to implement and could be very dangerous.”

Bai Yu immediately showed interest. “What is it?”

“I know of a place where a Survival Base has been established. If you walk from here, it will take about a day or so. If you avoid areas where Zombies might appear and stick to the smaller paths, it could take even longer. And I can’t guarantee that taking the detours will keep you safe,” Ling Mo explained while calculating in his mind.

This was the suggestion Ling Mo had mentioned earlier鈥”pointing these people towards a safe haven, Meng Jiayu’s Survival Base.

After careful consideration, he believed it was a feasible option.

Most of the Zombies had been drawn to the streets. If they slowly approached the Survival Base through remote areas, their chances of success would be high.

As for avoiding all risks… well, there’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world.

Of course, this was just a suggestion. Ultimately, the decision was up to Bai Yu and the others.

“Survival Base?” Bai Yu and Zhang Jie exchanged glances, then asked curiously.

“Yes. It was originally a Food Production Base. They are in dire need of labor. Once you get there, you’ll be farming and growing vegetables, self-sustaining. It’s not entirely safe, though; there are Mutation Beasts in the vicinity,” Ling Mo explained with a smile.

“Really? That sounds pretty good. Generally, women and children like us face discrimination, but if it’s about farming and working, we can handle that,” Zhang Jie said, showing great interest in the Survival Base. After what they had gone through in the Amusement Park, she was unwilling to depend on others for survival anymore.

Surviving on their own might be tough, but it was better than enduring endless humiliation.

“If possible, could you provide us with a simple map? We may never be able to repay you in this lifetime, but I will always remember your kindness,” Bai Yu said sincerely after some thought.

Her words were so earnest that Ling Mo couldn’t help but smile.

“No problem.”

A map was a small matter, easily handled.

During their conversation, they had already ventured deeper into the buildings and soon discovered the first supermarket.

“There’s food!”

“We should be able to find water too, right?”

“Are there any thicker clothes…”

“You can find clothes in the residents’ homes. Let’s look for food first.”

The supermarket wasn’t large, and at first glance, there were no Zombies鈥”probably already lured away by Black Silk.

The Survivors hesitated outside for a moment before rushing in.

Ling Mo wasn’t interested in the nutrition less food, but when a little girl excitedly hugged a bottle of drink, wiped it clean with her sleeve, and handed it to him, he still accepted it.

The Zombie moved much faster than the female Survivor, but the shelves slowed it down just enough to fall slightly behind.

Seeing that the area ahead was open and without cover, the female Survivor’s face turned to one of despair.

The Zombie, as agile as a monkey, leapt over the shelves and pounced toward the female Survivor from mid-air.

With its scarlet mouth, sharp fingers, and powerful leap, it looked just like a cheetah hunting a lamb.

“Get down!”

One of the Survivors wielding an Iron Rod was the first to rush over, shouting a warning.

The female Survivor instinctively dove forward, and as she hit the floor, the Survivor reached her side, gripping the Iron Rod with both hands and thrusting it at the Zombie’s abdomen.

However, the ordinary Zombie had undergone an overall enhancement, making it stronger than before.

Amazingly, it managed to grab the Iron Rod at the crucial moment, not only dodging the attack but also pulling the Survivor toward it.

“Hey! Over here!”

By this time, Bai Yu had also arrived. She decisively picked up some items and hurled them at the Zombie, shouting loudly.
