Chapter 391 – Where is the Awareness of a Master?
“Squeak—!”
Inside the aluminum factory, an iron door was gently pushed open, and then the head of a rabbit poked through the gap.
The giant wolf’s nose was off-duty, but upon entering the factory, they had already discovered the corpses being devoured, which made the rabbit immediately overturn her previous judgment.
Ling Mo and his group had already arrived at this godforsaken place ahead of time.
Although she couldn’t figure out what they were doing here, the rabbit was desperate for supplies.
Without a doubt, the rabbit was very good at acting, and her strength was also considerable. Inside that rabbit mascot costume was a quite insane woman.
The reason she left City S for City X was firstly due to the scarcity of supplies in City S, but more importantly, she had begun to realize that some survivors were starting to band together against her.
“Mad Rabbit,” “Professional Robber,” these were some of the rabbit’s nicknames.
“Big stupid wolf, we’re mostly unaffected by scents here, can you smell where they are?” the rabbit asked as she walked forward.
The giant wolf following her sniffed deeply and replied, “The scent is quite scattered, it seems they have been to many places, but it’s more concentrated in the middle… Yes, it’s definitely that workshop in the middle.”
“Very good!” The rabbit showed a hint of surprise, “Since they are in a more enclosed place, that’s even better…”
After arriving near the workshop, the rabbit first observed from a distance, and after confirming that Ling Mo and his team had indeed not set up any sentries, her regard for Ling Mo was slightly diminished.
“It seems they think they are strong enough, so they no longer worry about zombies sneaking up on them…”
The rabbit sneered, then waved at the two bears: “Where are the things you prepared?”
“We found it in the car on the way, but most of it has evaporated, barely enough I guess.”
Smiley bear brought over a bucket filled with gasoline and said.
The Crying bear, on the other hand, shook a large plastic bottle in his hand, filled with a bottle of thick blood.
So much fresh blood would surely attract the other zombies in the factory.
“Although there are few zombies nearby, we have already used zombie flesh to attract some to the door, it should be fine. Get ready and go, remember, we just need to wear them down!”
The rabbit said through gritted teeth.
Smiley bear immediately approached silently, starting to pour gasoline along the wall. Crying bear then went over, preparing to splash the blood.
At this moment, the rabbit had already retreated, planning to observe the situation from a distance first.
However, just as she reached a corner, she suddenly felt a chill on the back of her neck, and when she turned around, she saw Ling Mo standing behind her, the tactical knife piercing the headgear, resting on her neck.
Ling Mo’s face carried a detestably pleasant smile: “Hi, didn’t expect to see you again so soon.”
“You…”
“Can you tell me, what are you doing here? Can’t get enough of me?” Ling Mo twisted his neck and asked.
The rabbit girl was paralyzed with fear, feeling as if invisible ropes had bound her entire body.
“How did you… How did you find us…?” she mumbled, bewildered.
“Please, I live in a zombie-infested hellhole. Did you really think I wouldn’t be prepared?” Ling Mo snickered coldly.
In reality, his mental Tentacles only covered the area around the workshop. Had the rabbit and her crew not approached, even if they performed a puppet show anywhere else in the factory, Ling Mo would have been none the wiser.
But, of course, there was no need to reveal such weaknesses to the enemy…
Now, Ling Mo realized he’d been outplayed by the rabbit, this bald woman who surely wasn’t as timid as she seemed. In fact, her audacity knew no bounds.
From the industrial park… No, from the very entrance of City S, she had tailed him here…
“I… I was forced to do this,” the rabbit girl’s voice suddenly broke into a sob, her pitch rising dramatically.
“Oh, calling the cops won’t help you now,” Ling Mo smirked devilishly. “And do you really think I’d trust you?”
The rabbit girl cocked her head slightly and glanced back, only to see the Smiley bear and the Giant wolf surrounded.
The Giant wolf’s only power was its sense of smell, and it now faced Yu Shiran.
“Heh, little loli…”
Despite the thrill in his heart, the Giant wolf didn’t hesitate to raise his spear.
With the tables turned on them, the plan was simple: take out the girl and make a break for it!
But as he lunged with his spear, the Giant wolf recalled the rabbit girl’s words, “Even that kid can wipe out trash like you in a second…”
“Boom!”
The Giant wolf didn’t even see how Yu Shiran dodged his spear when suddenly his body felt weightless before crashing heavily to the ground.
Before he could struggle, a tremendous force struck the back of his head, flattening the wolf’s head as if it were made of steel. Blood mixed with strangely colored fluids oozed out as Yu Shiran lifted her foot and took a deep breath.
But she quickly gagged, “Disgusting… Still, humans smell better than this vile creature.”
The death of the Giant wolf sent shockwaves through the bears, now under the watchful eyes of Li Ya Lin and Xia Na.
With a hardened heart, the Smiley bear pulled out a lighter, ignited it with a flick, and tossed it to the ground.
Flames shot up instantly, and in the brief moment the fire wall separated them, the bears bolted.
“Think you can run?”
Ling Mo’s mental Tentacles were not afraid of fire. The bears’ legs were instantly ensnared, dragging them back through the wall of flame.
By the time they emerged on the other side, they were ablaze.
No choice, really. Puppet suits are quite flammable…
“When you decided to set the fire to kill us, you should’ve been prepared for this,” Ling Mo stated.
Despite his words, the screams of the two were unsettling. Nonetheless, Ling Mo left it to Xia Na and her group to deal with the duo.
The rabbit girl was dumbstruck, “We just wanted to smoke you out, let the zombies hold you up while we looted your supplies.”
“If we were injured, would you have let us go?” Ling Mo asked, shrugging his shoulders.
The rabbit didn’t speak again; instead, she chose another way to respond.
It was just her and Ling Mo here, so she believed she still had a fighting chance.
She quietly unzipped her side zipper and then, suddenly, rolled out from that side.
Ling Mo felt the tip of his blade lose its point of contact and was startled.
But what shocked him was the rabbit’s body was completely bare! She wasn’t wearing anything under the rabbit costume!
This bare-skinned rabbit, carrying her axe, leaped high into the air. With a formidable presence, she brought the axe down towards Ling Mo from mid-air.
At this moment, the rabbit was incredibly angry. She had thought her plan was foolproof, that she could escape with minimal losses even if things went south.
But she hadn’t expected that against an overwhelmingly stronger force, all her schemes were nothing but a joke.
Ling Mo had merely discovered them in advance, turning her well-thought-out plan into a farce.
The most infuriating part was that this guy had realized it all along but hadn’t stepped in to prevent it. Instead, he played the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind!
Does he not have the awareness of a true expert?
If it came to a head-on confrontation, the rabbit was confident she could escape before things worsened, without ending up cornered as she was now!
“Die!” With a loud shout, the rabbit’s axe swooshed towards Ling Mo’s head.
Ling Mo, however, stood still. Following a moment of psychic interference, there was a muffled “thud” as the axe veered off course and struck the ground instead.
The rabbit crouched on the ground, glaring at Ling Mo with hatred. He, on the other hand, was interestingly gazing at her chest and a certain triangular area: “You’re not wearing anything, are you trying to avoid extra weight? But no, how much weight could a set of underwear possibly add… Indeed, a perverted rabbit…”
Having learned from a previous experience, the rabbit knew that simply running away was futile. She felt an intense sense of danger.
She attacked several times, each time subtly but deliberately moving closer to the direction of the workshop.
Ling Mo certainly noticed this, but he didn’t pay much attention…
After all, Ye Lian and the others were standing there, and there was also a blazing wall of fire. However, Xia Na and her group were pushing the wall, and it looked like the fire wouldn’t reach inside or spread any further.
“Boom!”
Ling Mo dodged another attack, smiling as he walked towards the rabbit.
But at that moment, the rabbit suddenly stamped hard behind her, shattering the bottle filled with blood on the ground.
As the bottle broke beneath her foot, her wound became thoroughly soaked with zombie blood.
