Chapter 4 – Undressing Her
In that brief moment of distraction, a glint of cold light flashed in Ye Lian’s eyes, and at the same time, Ling Mo’s head throbbed with pain. Fortunately, he quickly regained his composure and reasserted control over Ye Lian.
Just a slight lapse of concentration, and Ye Lian nearly broke free from his control. This made Ling Mo feel a surge of fear.
A Zombie Puppet had no chance against Ye Lian, and Ling Mo himself probably wouldn’t fare much better. Besides, he neither wanted to hurt Ye Lian nor wished to be killed by her. Now that he had found Ye Lian, he couldn’t afford to die. He must find a way to restore her.
They couldn’t stay here long. Ling Mo quickly used Puppet Control to guide Ye Lian towards his residence.
In such a densely populated area, no matter how careful they were, they were bound to encounter zombies. But unlike the arduous battles on the way here, with Ye Lian around, the zombies were almost powerless.
Whether in speed or strength, Ye Lian far surpassed ordinary zombies. Initially, Ling Mo was reluctant to use Puppet Control to make her fight, fearing she might get hurt. But when zombies appeared, the intense desire to attack conveyed from Ye Lian made Ling Mo feel a surge of heat. The frenzy he felt when controlling Zombie Puppets was magnified tenfold now.
From the moment Ye Lian charged out, Ling Mo could clearly feel that he was only in partial control of her. While she fought, her instincts were maximized, and with Ling Mo’s current Puppet Control strength, he could only maintain a link with Ye Lian without influencing her battle actions.
“I didn’t expect her to be this strong…” Ling Mo felt a sense of crisis. If he didn’t quickly enhance his own power, it wouldn’t be long before Ye Lian would break free from his control. Then, not only would he be unable to help her recover, but he might also die at her hands. Even if he managed to escape, finding Ye Lian again in this large city would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.
With this thought, Ling Mo gritted his teeth, tightened his grip on the Boning Knife, and rushed to Ye Lian’s side.
At that moment, there were four zombies around Ye Lian, and she was twisting the head off one of them. These zombies wouldn’t actively attack Ye Lian, but as soon as Ling Mo appeared, the other three lunged at him simultaneously.
Ling Mo was dealing with so many zombies for the first time, and he felt extremely tense. But somehow, the frenzy he sensed from Ye Lian made him feel a strong desire to fight as he raised his Boning Knife.
With a low growl, Ling Mo charged into the midst of the three zombies.
The zombies were strong and not as stiff as those depicted in movies. However, as creatures that acted purely on instinct, their attack methods were still relatively simple.
As one of the zombies reached out to grab Ling Mo, he swiftly dodged to the side, simultaneously driving his Boning Knife into the belly of another zombie.
“Thud!”
The sound of the knife piercing flesh echoed, but Ling Mo didn’t have time to glance at it. He immediately kicked the third zombie.
The zombie was sent flying towards Ye Lian. Before it could get back up, Ye Lian had already scooped out its hindbrain.
Meanwhile, the zombie Ling Mo had dodged was closing in again. Having just regained his balance, Ling Mo now faced a real crisis.
His knife was still embedded in the second zombie, and the first zombie’s blood-soaked hands were reaching towards him. If it grabbed him, escaping would be nearly impossible.
Under the threat of death, Ling Mo didn’t panic. He yanked the Boning Knife forward, causing the second zombie to lunge forward. At the same time, Ling Mo deftly sidestepped.
As the two zombies collided, Ling Mo’s Boning Knife slashed open the belly of one zombie and, without hesitation, he thrust it into the hindbrain of the other, giving it a forceful twist.
All of this happened in a flash. By the time Ling Mo snapped out of the frenzy, the only thing left was the corpses of the zombies.
Ling Mo then realized that his performance just now was not only calm but also showed a high level of mental and physical synchronization. While this was largely due to his improved mental and physical state, the frenzy he felt had undoubtedly played a role.
Most importantly, looking at the corpses at his feet and gripping the blood-soaked Boning Knife, Ling Mo’s body was trembling slightly. It wasn’t from fear, but from excitement…
By this time, Ye Lian had consumed the gel from the hindbrains of the zombies, and her eyes had become even brighter, looking somewhat lively. If not for the eerie blood-red color, she would look almost indistinguishable from an ordinary survivor.
For some reason, as Ye Lian underwent changes, Ling Mo also felt a slight transformation in his own body.
Although the change was subtle, Ling Mo indeed felt much stronger than before. His spent energy had somewhat recovered, and more importantly, the Psychic Link between him and Ye Lian had become even tighter.
Could it be that because of the Psychic Link with Ye Lian, he was also affected as she continued to mutate? Ling Mo couldn’t find a better explanation than this.
Previously, Ling Mo couldn’t determine whether these changes were good or bad. But now, feeling these changes, he was suddenly excited.
It didn’t affect his rationality and allowed him and Ye Lian to grow stronger together! Ling Mo even started looking forward to further changes. However, he knew that being hasty was not an option; it would be disastrous if it brought any danger to Ye Lian.
On the way back, Ling Mo found a clean dress and a pair of sandals at a clothing store, intending to change Ye Lian out of her blood-stained clothes.
Previously, the Zombie Puppet’s appearance was disgusting enough, but Ye Lian had always been the cleanest. Even after becoming a Zombie, he couldn’t let her stay dressed like this.
However, upon returning to their shelter, and seeing Ye Lian sitting quietly in front of him, Ling Mo didn’t know where to start!
Whether controlling Ye Lian to undress herself or doing it himself, it inevitably meant seeing the body that had appeared countless times in his fantasies…
Before, due to his own shortcomings, although Ling Mo liked Ye Lian very much, he never confessed his feelings, nor did he expect any change in their relationship. After all, he was just a struggling nerd with a low income, while Ye Lian was the campus queen of X City University, surrounded by suitors with far better conditions.
But now, he had no choice but to see her body because he had to help her change clothes…
Even though Ye Lian had no rationality at this moment, Ling Mo still felt his mouth go dry.
Glancing at the water basin at his feet and then at the dirty Ye Lian, Ling Mo hesitated for a long time before finally slowly reaching out his hand…
As the buttons were undone one by one, Ye Lian’s fair, delicate skin gradually came into Ling Mo’s view.
Feeling a surge of heat, Ling Mo barely managed to suppress his impulses and started gently wiping Ye Lian with a wrung-out towel.
“Calm down, calm down… Doing something like this in this situation, can I still call myself human…”
It’s impossible to say he had no impulses in front of his beloved girl’s body, but seeing Ye Lian’s emotionless eyes, Ling Mo felt a pang in his heart.
When will Ye Lian regain her rationality…
