Chapter 51 – The Sister-in-Law Needs Discipline

“Hey, wake up.”

Ling Mo reached out and grabbed Wang Lin’s chin, turning her face towards him. Wang Lin, still unconscious, furrowed her brows tightly, her face pale, as if she had experienced a great fright.

Upon hearing the shout, Wang Lin slowly opened her eyes, then suddenly started struggling and screamed in terror, “Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!”

“Calm down!” Ling Mo quickly grabbed Wang Lin, speaking in a deep voice. She struggled desperately in her panic, but having just woken up, she didn’t have much strength. Though her movements were vigorous, she couldn’t break free from Ling Mo’s grip.

Ling Mo’s stern shout startled Wang Lin, and she quickly came to her senses. “What are you doing here? Ah! Zombies, where are those two zombies?” she exclaimed, immediately looking down at her clothes in a panic.

Seeing her like this, she no longer had any of her previous arrogance. Ling Mo sneered.

After Wang Lin fainted, Ling Mo had brought Xia Na and Ye Lian over, while Wang Cheng was guarded by a Zombie Puppet.

After all, his goal wasn’t just to teach Wang Lin a lesson but to find out how she had tracked him down.

Seeing Wang Lin still in a state of fear, Ling Mo raised an eyebrow nonchalantly and pointed to the door. “Over there.”

Wang Lin followed the direction of Ling Mo’s finger and breathed a long sigh of relief. The bodies of the two zombies lay at the door, while Xia Na and Ye Lian stood outside.

“You…” Wang Lin turned to Ling Mo, surprised, and asked, “Did you save me?”

This was exactly the effect Ling Mo wanted! Although it was a self-directed drama, who would think that the zombies were related to him?

Moreover, Wang Lin indeed hadn’t thought of that. In fact, she still believed that those were some “new type” of zombies, and particularly perverted ones at that!

Ling Mo sneered, “Your screams were just too loud…”

Wang Lin was taken aback at first, then her face turned red. She opened her mouth to retort but, remembering that Ling Mo had just saved her, she reluctantly closed her mouth and let out a frustrated humph from her nose.

“What’s the matter? I saved you, and you don’t even say thank you?” Ling Mo rolled his eyes. This girl was really not likable at all.

Wang Lin’s expression turned somewhat awkward, but seeing the teasing look in Ling Mo’s eyes, she muttered indifferently, “Fine, you can have that Short Knife.”

Ling Mo was instantly annoyed by her response.

“So, your life is only worth a knife?” He snorted and stood up. “Get this straight: that knife is mine now. I don’t need you to give it to me.”

“You!” Wang Lin was a bit flustered, but seeing the disdain in Ling Mo’s eyes, she couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty.

Realizing Ling Mo had no intention of helping her up, Wang Lin bit her lip and slowly climbed up the wall by herself. “So, what do you want? I don’t have anything else to give you. Ah, right, my Curved Knife!”

She looked around on the ground but found nothing. Her heart sank, and she turned her gaze to Ling Mo.

Sure enough, as she looked at him, Ling Mo pulled out the Curved Knife from behind his back and toyed with it in his hand. Seeing Wang Lin reaching out to grab it, he didn’t return it; instead, he flashed a cold smile.

“Don’t push your luck! I already gave you the Short Knife, and now you want to take my Curved Knife too?” Wang Lin’s limbs were still a bit weak, but she stubbornly lunged at him.

However, Ling Mo’s reflexes were no worse than hers. He simply sidestepped, causing her to miss entirely.

Wang Lin was getting increasingly frustrated. Realizing she couldn’t outfight Ling Mo, she turned and yelled at Xia Na, “Xia Na! I’m your cousin, how can you help an outsider bully me!”

Hearing her outburst, Xia Na glanced at her briefly, then turned her head away without any expression.

Xia Na’s action completely infuriated Wang Lin. But just as she took a step forward, Ling Mo raised his hand to stop her. “Stay where you are,” he said, his gaze suddenly sharp. “Who are you calling an outsider?”

“I’m talking to Xia Na; why are you butting in…”

“Given how you treat Xia Na, what right do you have to complain about her? Let me tell you, while you were lording it over others with Song Tian, Xia Na was supporting over a dozen people all on her own. Can you do that? In every way, she’s miles ahead of you!”

Wang Lin was momentarily stunned, then her face darkened. She sneered, “Don’t think that just because you saved me, you can…”

“Slap!”

The sharp sound echoed, and Wang Lin’s eyes widened in shock. She froze completely.

Clutching her cheek, she looked at Ling Mo in disbelief. “You actually dared to hit me…” But before she could finish, a chill ran up her spine.

Ling Mo’s gaze was icy and menacing, unlike anything she had ever seen before. “Hit you? That’s the least I could do. If it weren’t for the fact you’re Xia Na’s cousin, practically my sister-in-law, you’d already be torn to pieces by Zombies.”

“You have no right to hit me!” Wang Lin stepped forward, only to be met with another fierce slap.

“I have the right because I’m stronger than you.” This slap left Wang Lin’s face pale, while Ling Mo approached slowly, his face cold. “In this world now, strength is what counts.”

“You…” Under Ling Mo’s contemptuous stare, Wang Lin’s cheeks burned with pain, and she finally felt a twinge of fear.

She instinctively took two steps back, her voice trembling. “Didn’t you say I’m your sister-in-law…”

“That depends on whether I want to acknowledge you. Weren’t you just saying I’m an outsider? I’ll return those words to you.” Ling Mo raised his hand again鈥”this movement made Wang Lin flinch, even squinting her eyes. But Ling Mo merely patted her cheek, smirking coldly. “Listen, I’m not a heartless person, but when someone goes out of their way to trouble me, I can’t guarantee I won’t do something drastic.”

“What are you planning… Xia Na won’t let you get away with this…” Wang Lin’s face turned deathly pale.

Ling Mo’s demeanor made Wang Lin involuntarily think of that Zombie’s actions… Could Ling Mo be planning to assault her?!

Her emotions spiraled out of control at the thought. “No! Don’t rape me! I’m Xia Na’s cousin, you can’t do this to me…”

Ling Mo paused, then chuckled mockingly. “Rape? You wish. I’m not interested in girls like you. Also, you got it wrong. Xia Na is mine. Whether you’re considered her sister depends on what I say, got it?”

Not interested?! You wish?!

The intense feeling of humiliation made Wang Lin tremble slightly, but Ling Mo’s chilling gaze and those two merciless slaps had completely shattered her courage.

“I have a question for you. You’d better answer honestly, or I’ll leave you here.” Seeing Wang Lin nod fearfully, Ling Mo’s tone turned severe, and he grabbed her chin, his face almost touching hers. “Tell me, how did you end up here?”

“You’re hurting me…”

“And don’t give me any crap about advanced technology. I checked myself thoroughly, and there’s nothing on me.” Ling Mo’s face showed a hint of impatience.

“I can’t say…”

Ling Mo’s expression grew strange, and he suddenly leaned closer, whispering in her ear. “Do you know what I saw when I came in? Do you want to experience that feeling again?”

Wang Lin’s face turned deathly pale. She looked at Ling Mo with a flicker of fear in her eyes and then softly said, “But even if I tell you, you wouldn’t believe me.”

“Whether I believe you or not is my business. Just tell me.”

“What if I told you… I have superhuman abilities?” Wang Lin bit her lip and said.

After speaking, she stared intently at Ling Mo, trying to discern his reaction. When Ling Mo remained silent, she grew anxious. “I knew you wouldn’t believe me, but I’m telling the truth!”

In reality, Ling Mo was indeed shocked! But on the other hand, he had already started to believe her because he himself had superhuman abilities!

So, it seemed he wasn’t the only superhuman after all!

Ling Mo stared intently at Wang Lin for a while. Only when she began to feel a tingling on her scalp and her gaze started to shift did Ling Mo finally speak. “What is your superpower? Is it related to tracking me?”

“You believe me?” Wang Lin was taken aback by Ling Mo’s reaction. But under his intense scrutiny, she had no choice but to admit, “Sensing, it’s a sensing ability…”

So, it’s entirely different from my Puppet Control Ability…

After some detailed questioning, Ling Mo got a fairly comprehensive understanding of Wang Lin’s sensing ability. Like his own Puppet Control Ability, her power was also based on Psychic Power. However, in terms of effectiveness, her superpower seemed rather limited.

The so-called sensing ability essentially turned her into a radar receiver, but she had to make physical contact with the target before she could track them.

When Wang Lin mentioned this, Ling Mo immediately recalled her punching him just before they parted ways…

After making physical contact, it was as if she had installed an invisible “tracker” on Ling Mo, allowing her to sense his general location through psychic means.

In fact, ever since Ling Mo left the camp, she had been continuously sensing his position. She initially worried that if Ling Mo moved too far away, the psychic connection with the “tracker” would automatically break. Fortunately, Ling Mo had only been circling around the area. Realizing that Ling Mo had stopped moving, at the crack of dawn, she immediately set off with Li Yu and Wang Cheng towards Ling Mo’s location. She feared that if Ling Mo moved out of range, she would lose the ability to track him. Moreover, this tracking could only last twelve hours; once the time was up, it would become ineffective.

However, she never expected to encounter such a bizarre Zombie here and almost get raped…

From Wang Lin’s eyes, Ling Mo could tell that she was telling the truth. She had been completely scared out of her wits.

“Calling it a superpower, but how come it’s so useless?” Ling Mo still found it hard to believe. His Puppet Control Ability had been constantly improving, so why was Wang Lin’s power so ineffective?

Wang Lin shook her head. “I don’t know either. No matter how I use it, there’s no improvement.”

“I’ve told you everything… Can you let me go now?” Wang Lin glanced up at Ling Mo, asking cautiously. After asking, she quickly added nervously, “I won’t cause you any more trouble! Really…”

You wouldn’t dare… Thinking this, Ling Mo showed a teasing smile. “You can try begging me.”

Beg?! Wang Lin’s eyes widened again. She had never begged anyone in her life, and now she had to beg this person?!

But seeing the smile on Ling Mo’s face, Wang Lin felt extreme fear. She had no doubt that if she didn’t comply, he would turn his threats into reality.

Wang Lin bit her lip, wanting to cry but not daring to. Apart from Ling Mo, no one had ever hit her, let alone threatened her like this.

She was genuinely terrified. When Ling Mo looked at her with that deathly gaze, Wang Lin felt a chill deep in her heart.

“…Brother-in-law… I was wrong…” These words were almost forced out through clenched teeth. She felt completely drained after saying them, as if all her strength had been sucked out.

“You really need some discipline!” Ling Mo smiled and patted Wang Lin’s cheek. Seeing the layer of tears forming in her eyes, he felt a wave of satisfaction.

“Considering you’re… rather foolish,” Ling Mo thoughtfully chose his words, “I’ll warn you one more time, little sister-in-law, don’t do anything stupid again.”

Wang Lin bit her lip and slowly lowered her head. “Understood.”

“Louder. I can’t hear you.”

“Understood!”
