Chapter 557 – Being With Humans Or Becoming A Beast

After a thorough session of sensing, Xia Na and Ye Lian both confirmed a fact.

The distance between Ling Mo and them was indeed growing.

Although, as Zombie Puppets, they could not sense the exact location like Ling Mo could, they could still roughly estimate the general direction and distance.

“What’s wrong?” Li Yalin struggled out from under Xiao Bai’s belly. The “Panda Fall” had been deliberately weakened and was not enough to hurt her.

Ye Lian was still staring in one direction with her large eyes. After a few seconds of blankness, she said, “At our current… current speed…”

“In about ten minutes, our psychic link with Ling-Ge will be cut off,” Xia Na picked up the conversation.

If Ye Lian were to say this, it would probably take her a stuttering minute. The impatient Xia Na couldn’t wait that long.

However, after grabbing the conversation, Xia Na immediately flashed a coy smile at Ye Lian.

Ye Lian blinked for a second before forcing out a smile that roughly signified “it’s okay.”

This was where the difference between pure Zombies and humanized Zombies showed. Xia Na’s expression was quite natural, while Ye Lian’s looked like a forced imitation from memory, with very low completion.

“Ah…” Li Yalin was somewhat puzzled by this. She neither possessed the strong psychic power naturally like Xia Na nor had the deepest psychic link with Ling Mo like Ye Lian. Most importantly, although she had the highest level of evolution among the three female Zombies, her displayed Intelligence was actually about the same as Ye Lian’s.

In contrast, Yu Shiran, who was lying on top of Xiao Bai, had a big reaction. After a two-second daze, this Zombie Loli suddenly asked in confusion, “Does this mean… that in ten minutes, this Sausage Human will no longer be able to stop me from doing anything?”

“Alright, then you all go ahead, I’m leaving,” Yu Shiran said, lying down on Xiao Bai.

“Yep, yep, go on,” Xia Na waved her hand and then suddenly remembered something, continuing, “Ah… wait a second. I recall Ling-Ge mentioning that you and Black Silk are symbiotes, right?”

“Yeah…” Yu Shiran nodded blankly. Why bring this up now?

“Hehe… the one with the psychic link to Ling-Ge is Black Silk, not you. So if you voluntarily distance yourself, causing the psychic link to break, you’ll be completely controlled by Black Silk,” Xia Na smiled wickedly.

“What do you mean?” Yu Shiran instinctively sensed something bad and quickly asked.

Xia Na lowered her head slightly, her eyes flashing with a Red Glimmer: “The reason you can retain most of your sanity now is that Ling-Ge is restraining Black Silk. The three female Zombies leapt in unison, using their incredible jumping abilities to quickly disappear into the ruins.

A few seconds later, a white shadow followed, accompanied by the unwilling, angry roars of the Zombie Loli: “Ahhh! Human! I’m not done with you! You must have plotted against me on purpose! You cunning, insidious human!”

“What’s… wrong with her?” Ye Lian glanced back and asked.

“Just a brat, ignore her,” Xia Na replied, frowning. “This is very strange. Ling-Ge knew we were out practicing new moves; he would definitely stay with the F Team, ready to assist us.”

“Could it be that he’s not doing this voluntarily?” Li Yalin asked.

Even a straightforward thinker could easily figure out this issue.

“Niepan? No, that doesn’t make sense. The people from Niepan don’t know Ling-Ge, and Ling-Ge’s plan was to lie in wait for them to expose themselves. Even if something went wrong, he should have brought those people to meet up with us by now,” Xia Na’s frown deepened with her analysis.

“So, what do we do?” Li Yalin was starting to get nervous.

“I’ll follow… behind you,” Ye Lian suddenly said.

“Alright, Ye Lian will cover the rear. Yalin and I will flank from both sides. We must catch up with Ling-Ge!”

After Xia Na finished, she immediately accelerated, the Scythe in her hand flashing a cold gleam as she dashed to the front.

Li Yalin didn’t fully understand, but that didn’t stop her from following the plan. Almost instantly, her figure disappeared entirely.

If you looked closely at the obstacles ahead, you might catch a fleeting glimpse of a blurry shadow—Li Yalin slowing down just enough to be visible.

At the very back were Xiao Bai, Yu Shiran, and Black Silk.

In the blink of an eye, only a few shadows could be seen darting across the desolate city ruins.
