Chapter 609 – A Panda and Zombies Can’t Coexist
A sudden flash of cold light descended!
Following this, a sharp scream erupted: “Ah!”
However, this voice was neither Xia Na’s nor Ling Mo’s…
Ye Lian, who was aiming at a zombie, turned her head in confusion and glanced in the direction of the voice: “Huh?”
In her puzzled gaze, Yu Shiran, who had been secretly hiding there, was now staring wide-eyed with her mouth open, screaming in shock: “Ahhh!”
At this moment, the scream of this zombie loli was quite similar to that of a frightened human little girl.
The difference was that human little girls typically had tears on their faces, while the zombie loli’s face was only filled with bewilderment.
Yu Shiran wasn’t scared by something “tiny” like a cockroach or a rat. The reason she couldn’t help but scream was entirely because the knife that was supposed to be aimed at Xia Na, ushering in a new chapter of her life, was now only a centimeter away from her left eyeball.
What shocked her the most was that this knife was actually in her own hand.
“Wh-what… what’s going on here!”
Yu Shiran screamed in her mind.
However, as soon as her eyes met Ye Lian’s gaze, her scream immediately softened.
“That’s right! I’ve been discovered! No, I need to get out of here! Get…out…”
Nervous, Yu Shiran bit her lip and tried to retreat, but quickly realized that neither her arms nor her legs were responding to her commands.
All she could do was blink or choose to keep screaming.
“Black Silk! Should I thank you for at least leaving me control of these two organs! We had a deal, I didn’t even attack that human!”
Yu Shiran muttered under her breath, but she was somewhat surprised to find that after a few seconds of eye contact, Ye Lian had already turned her head back.
Meanwhile, Xia Na and Ling Mo seemed to be completely oblivious to her, still entirely focused on dealing with the variation zombies.
“Could it be… they didn’t hear? Although it’s a bit noisy here… Never mind, I’ll just let it go.”
The zombie loli struggled to turn her eyeballs to the left, trying to catch Xiao Bai’s attention: “Psst! Xiao Bai!”
“Hey! Help me out. I became like this just to save you,” Yu Shiran said.
However, Xiao Bai only lifted his eyelids briefly before lying back down.
“Hey! Psst! Xiao Bai! Panda! Stop pretending to be dumb!”
“Xiao Bai, how about we make a deal? I promise I’ll never leave you again!”
“Xiao Bai?”
The mutation panda, who had been completely unresponsive, finally made a slight move under Yu Shiran’s relentless calling.
But in Yu Shiran’s excited gaze, the mutation panda merely raised its two paws and then pressed them over its ears…
It was covering its head!
“Darn panda… I knew you can’t have both pandas and zombies!” Yu Shiran muttered through gritted teeth, then looked back at Ling Mo.
Seeing that this human was still turned away from her, without even glancing in her direction, Yu Shiran suddenly felt uneasy…
Three minutes later, the last variation zombie fell.
And Yu Shiran finally saw Ling Mo turn around, but the expression on this Sausage Human’s face was not what she had imagined.
“Sausage… you…” Yu Shiran couldn’t help but speak as she watched Ling Mo slowly walk over.
“What?” Ling Mo asked while rubbing his forehead.
“Shouldn’t you be furrowing your brows, with your eyeballs looking like they’re about to pop out?” Yu Shiran asked.
“When did I… Oh, that’s how I look when I’m angry,” Ling Mo suddenly realized, nodding his head. He then turned and quietly asked Ye Lian, “Do my eyeballs really look like they’re going to pop out?”
Ye Lian thought seriously for a moment, then nodded.
“Really…” Ling Mo rubbed his eyes, cleared his throat, and walked up to Yu Shiran.
Indeed, his expression today was different from usual. He was often enraged when facing Yu Shiran, but now he seemed very calm.
“Is this fun for you?” Ling Mo asked.
“Hmm?” Yu Shiran blinked.
“Uh…” Ling Mo gestured to Xia Na, “Take the knife away.”
This time, Yu Shiran truly widened her eyes, staring in shock at Xia Na.
The long-haired girl brushed her hair back, with a face that looked so innocent, yet wore a cunning smile: “Black Silk, let her go.”
Yu Shiran immediately watched helplessly as her arm lowered, and the knife was taken by Ling Mo.
“Although you chose a time when we were engaged in battle, hoping I wouldn’t sense you… that’s just a foolish thought,” Ling Mo said.
“But even if you sensed it, you were too busy… Besides, Black Silk and I are now on the same boat!” Yu Shiran said, completely oblivious to the situation.
Ling Mo said with a chuckle, adding, “Indeed, I don’t have too much energy to spare elsewhere, but did you really think you could turn Black Silk against us? Haha…”
“Why not!” Yu Shiran retorted.
Xia Na walked over with a bright smile, reaching out to pinch Yu Shiran’s cheek: “The reason is simple because Black Silk has been trained… educated by me. You think just because you spent some time together, it would start listening to you? Well, it did start listening to you, but did you ever wonder why?”
At this point, Xia Na’s gaze suddenly became meaningfully deep.
Yu Shiran stared blankly at Xia Na for a moment before suddenly realizing, “Ah…”
“That’s right, I instructed it to cooperate with you within certain limits. After all, you two are symbiotes, and this would speed up your fusion. Once you reach a sufficient fusion level, you won’t have to deliberately do this anymore… but those limits are very specific.” Xia Na squatted slightly, aligning her gaze with Yu Shiran’s.
You could tell she wanted to squat down completely, but that would allow the zombie loli to look down on her.
Ling Mo, standing to the side, couldn’t help but pull at the corners of his mouth…
Who would have thought that zombies also have a height issue…
“Limits?” Yu Shiran was completely dumbfounded. With her small brain trying to process all this information, she was clearly overwhelmed.
“Hahaha… limits like harm…” Ling Mo interjected with a smug look.
“Me.” Xia Na extended her hand and pointed to her nose.
“Huh?” This answer left Ling Mo momentarily stunned. He remembered that the first command he had taught Black Silk was to not harm him!
However, when Ling Mo expressed his confusion, Xia Na replied with a slightly embarrassed smile, “Actually, the first rule was not to harm me…”
“Why?!” Ling Mo was shocked.
“Well, you know… during training, it just sort of… happened,” Xia Na tilted her head and smiled.
“But…” Ling Mo was momentarily at a loss, but he quickly understood.
It’s the same either way; his objective was to protect them after all.
Although he couldn’t shake the feeling that his cool giant dog might have disappeared because of reasons like this…
“So, Black Silk sold me out? It actually led me into a trap?” Yu Shiran suddenly asked.
“Not exactly. It’s essentially you. Your psychic powers… in a little while, you two will fully merge,” Ling Mo squatted in front of Yu Shiran and placed a hand on the zombie loli’s shoulder. “But how does it feel to be deceived like this?”
“Hmm?” Yu Shiran was puzzled again.
“I mean, being betrayed by someone so close to you doesn’t feel good, right? And you can’t even hit it, or do anything about it…” Ling Mo said.
“I didn’t think about hitting…” Yu Shiran tried hard to think.
However, at that moment, two translucent silver threads suddenly appeared and dived into the deep cleavage of Yu Shiran’s chest.
As a glowing “jellyfish” was pulled out and landed in Ling Mo’s palm, Yu Shiran couldn’t help but shout, “Ah! Black Silk, I’m going to eat you!”
“Exactly, that’s the feeling. And you can’t even eat it.” Ling Mo grinned widely, patting Yu Shiran’s cheek with one hand while pulling out a small object and placing it in her hand with the other. “Although zombies don’t lie, when you don’t even know what’s really going on in your own mind, what you say can hardly be trusted.”
