Chapter 132 – A Newly Bought Bed?

It wasn’t until night had fallen and they had finished their sweet tea that Lin Xi left the athletic field with Huang Haiyao.

“Thank you,” Lin Xi said sincerely.

“It’s the least I could do,” Huang Haiyao replied. “If you ever run into any other problems, feel free to come to me for more life counseling.”

“Would you like me to drive you home?” Huang Haiyao had driven to school.

After saying goodbye to Huang Haiyao, Lin Xi walked out of the school with a spring in her step.

Xia Xun revealed the answer. “I warned it that if it ever acted mean to you again, I’d lock it up for a week.”

Just then, her phone rang.

Lin Xi checked and saw that Thor was calling.

She obviously couldn’t take Thor’s call in front of Xia Xun, so Lin Xi put Little Mi down and moved a short distance away.

As it happened, Xia Xun was busy preparing snacks and drinks.

“Hello? Thor?”

“It’s me, Master. Why aren’t you home yet?”

“Don’t wait for me for dinner tonight. I’m at Xia Xun’s place.”

“What?! Xia Xun kidnapped you?! Damn that Magical Girl! Even if it costs me my life, I’ll rescue you from that den of evil!!!”

Lin Xi told Thor to calm down. “What kidnapping? What den of evil? Xia Xun has never known I’m a witch. I wasn’t kidnapped. She just invited me over to her house, that’s all.”

Lin Xi hung up without another word. Thor’s concerns were completely unfounded.

Xia Xun, the Righteous Magical Girl, would never set some kind of devious trap.

“Lin Xi, come have some tea.” Xia Xun had already brewed a pot of fragrant, sweet black tea. “Who was that on the phone?”

“An insurance agent,” Lin Xi replied casually.

Thor: I do not sell insurance!!!

Lin Xi settled onto the beanbag sofa, and Xia Xun scooted over to sit right beside her.

They started with a round of a two-player game.

Gaming was one of Xia Xun’s favorite ways to unwind. As they played, she opened up to Lin Xi about everything that had been bothering her.

Lin Xi was both an excellent gaming partner and a patient listener.

She was also happy to help Xia Xun relieve some of her stress.

Recently, she had been setting aside time every day to learn how to cook.

It was all so she could show off her skills in front of Lin Xi today.

Lin Xi offered to help, but Xia Xun insisted on making the entire dinner by herself.

With no one else to play with, the game wasn’t much fun anymore.

So Lin Xi went looking for Little Mi.

Little Mi: Haki Xi! Are you ever going to stop?!

Little Mi had no desire whatsoever to play with Lin Xi. If it couldn’t afford to provoke her, couldn’t it at least avoid her?

It fled the living room.

She pounced on Little Mi atop the guest room bed.
