Chapter 117 – Dark Divine Light

Volume 2: Battlefield Between Two Worlds

"Did you run into opponents? Did you encounter Demonic Creatures? Were you afraid? Did you run for your lives? Did you scream?"

The number of people standing before him didn't match the number of Class Holders who had stayed behind. This meant they hadn't just sat there without facing any danger.

"Look, when you said you wanted to stay behind and didn't want to keep moving forward, I didn't blame you. But why do you feel so entitled to enjoy this joy of victory? Why do people like you get to survive? Why are you jumping for joy here right now? Why are you putting on that 'I succeeded' face! Tell me, why?"

"Why?"

Wen Yu turned his head toward the Fourth Prince.

The Fourth Prince slightly raised his right hand. A massive force flooded into Wen Yu's right hand, which was still choking Sun Aotian.

A gentle yet powerful energy surged through Wen Yu's hand, forcing him to involuntarily release his grip on Sun Aotian!

Sun Aotian collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. He looked at Wen Yu as if he were looking at a monster before quickly scrambling away to the side.

While a Treasure Land Guardian was forbidden from harming Class Holders, they naturally had countermeasures for dealing with a Class Holder who attempted to kill another outside of a Trial!

However, that wasn't important.

"Why?" Wen Yu asked once more.

The entire area fell into a dead silence.

The Fourth Prince looked at Wen Yu and said seriously, "Luck."

"What a fucking great explanation. Turns out you're the most badass one here. I'm impressed, truly."

Wen Yu nodded, then swept his gaze across the crowd.

Of the escort team, the only survivor was Sun Ruixing.

This was within Wen Yu's expectations.

Aside from him, there were five other trembling Class Holders.

"Whew."

Wen Yu exhaled a breath of turbid air.

"Don't be angry anymore."

Sun Ruixing walked over and patted Wen Yu on the shoulder. He could see that Wen Yu was currently in a very bad state.

"Whew."

Wen Yu took a deep breath, as if doing so would make him feel a bit lighter.

"I'm not angry, just a bit agitated. So, we succeeded, right?"

"Yes."

Sun Ruixing nodded.

"I really don't feel it. Honestly, this is the most hollow success I've ever experienced. I can't feel even a damn bit of happiness!"

"I understand. Once we get out, have some drinks and get some sleep. You'll feel better."

"Tch, I don't drink to drown my sorrows."

"I'll join you, but you're buying."

Wen Yu rolled his eyes. "No problem. I have Points. I'll trade for two bottles of good liquor."

"So, are you two finished?"

Seeing that the Class Holders present showed no signs of excitement or joy, the Fourth Prince spoke up.

"Send us out. There's no point staying here anymore," Wen Yu said.

The Fourth Prince nodded. "You don't want the rewards?"

"Rewards? Why wouldn't I want them?"

Wen Yu had been in a foul mood, so he hadn't considered that part.

Given the difficulty of the Second Phase, the rewards were bound to be incredibly powerful!

"Very well. Commencing the distribution of rewards."

As soon as the Fourth Prince finished speaking, a chest filled with a large quantity of Magic Crystals appeared before everyone.

"Inside are Level 2 Magic Crystals. This is the reward intended for the five of you."

After saying this, the Fourth Prince quietly glanced at Wen Yu.

It seemed the Fourth Prince didn't think much of these "deserters" either.

"Sun, go ahead. Absorb as much as you can,"

Wen Yu said to Sun Ruixing.

Sun Ruixing glanced at the five people nearby, who were too terrified to move, then looked at the Fourth Prince standing not far away before stepping forward.

As one Magic Crystal after another vanished into Sun Ruixing's hands, his Physical Attribute reached 50 Points in a short amount of time!

Seeing that Sun Ruixing had finished his absorption, Wen Yu turned his gaze toward the five frozen survivors.

"You should understand that these things don't belong to you, right?"

Seeing their grim expressions, Wen Yu suddenly smiled.

"Sun, take this entire chest of Magic Crystals back!"

As the saying goes, comparison breeds resentment. After witnessing the heroic sacrifice of William and the others, Sun Ruixing clearly had his own opinions about these five. He no longer cared about playing the Saintly Person and decisively carried the chest over to Wen Yu's side.

Seated high above, the Fourth Prince nodded and spoke.

"Since the rewards for the five of you have been distributed, you may leave."

As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for a response, the Fourth Prince waved his hand. With a flash of Teleportation light, the five were instantly sent out of the Treasure Land.

"Next, I will distribute the rewards for the two of you."

The Fourth Prince looked at Wen Yu and Sun Ruixing seriously, a hint of hesitation in his eyes. After a long moment, he shook his head and laughed, seemingly at himself.

"Consider yourselves lucky. I happen to have some good things on hand, so I'll give them to you."

A white light flashed, and a Scroll appeared in front of Sun Ruixing.

"This is yours. I hope you make good use of it."

Sun Ruixing took the Scroll, but before he could examine it closely, he was teleported out by the Fourth Prince.

Only Wen Yu and the Fourth Prince remained in the Treasure Land.

"Is there something you want to say?"

After a long silence, Wen Yu was the first to speak.

"Yes,"

The Fourth Prince nodded.

"About what?"

"About the reward you are about to receive."

Wen Yu pondered for a moment before asking cautiously, "Can't you tell me something about the Demon Race and the Ruler?"

The Fourth Prince shook his head. He said nothing, but his stance was clear.

After another silence, the Fourth Prince spoke.

"You are good-very good."

"I have watched everything you've done. Your human race is impressive."

"Therefore, giving this to you will not bring shame to this Skill."

As soon as the Fourth Prince finished speaking, a Scroll appeared out of thin air in front of Wen Yu.

Wen Yu slowly took the Scroll into his hands.

Then, a low Notification Tone rang out in his mind.

"Dark Divine Light (SSS-Rank, Active Ability): Merge with the darkness, control the darkness, and even become the darkness itself. Then, let the light erupt from within the dark!"

"This Skill is divided into two parts: Darkness and Divine Light."

"When the Host masters the Divine Light, Dark Divine Light will undergo a Promotion to the Race Heritage Rank."

"Prerequisites to learn Dark Divine Light:"

"1. Host must reach Level 5 or higher."

"2. Host must possess one S-Rank or higher Dark-type Ability to learn the Dark Divine Light Skill, but will only be able to use the Darkness portion."

"3. Host must possess one SS-Rank or higher Light-type Ability to awaken the Divine Light!"
