Volume 2: Battlefield Between Two Worlds

The Healing Potion took effect rapidly. William, who had been lying motionless on the ground, twitched slightly.

"Ah… huff…"

A long breath escaped William's lips as he regained consciousness.

"Thanks…" he croaked, spitting out a mouthful of foul, clotted blood.

"Mm."

Wen Yu placed another bottle of Healing Potion beside William before turning to walk toward Chu Ziling, who was writhing nearby.

Wen Yu sat on the sandy ground and lit a cigarette.

Beside him, a series of sickening creaks and cracks emanated from Chu Ziling's waist.

It was the sound of shattered bones knitting back together under the influence of the Healing Potion.

"Want one?" Wen Yu asked, holding a cigarette out to Chu Ziling.

"Light it for me."

The spinal injury had left Chu Ziling paralyzed from the neck down; he couldn't even control his hands.

Wen Yu took the cigarette from his own mouth and placed it between Chu Ziling's lips before lighting another for himself.

"Phew."

Chu Ziling exhaled a blissful cloud of smoke and looked at Wen Yu. "What happened just now?"

Chu Ziling had fallen behind the Ancient Demon and hadn't witnessed Big Bear's self-destruction.

"Big Bear is dead. He heavily wounded the Ancient Demon before he went, and then I finished it off."

"He was a real man," Chu Ziling replied, his voice heavy with a mix of sorrow and respect.

"Not just a real man, but an outstanding soldier."

The voice came from Jiang Wentao, who was walking over from a short distance away.

"We need to move out quickly. I'm worried something might have happened on Princess Fina's end," Jiang Wentao said to Wen Yu.

In that short span of time, Jiang Wentao's legs had already regrown. Judging by the speed, he must have downed quite a few Healing Potions.

"Let's go."

Wen Yu crushed his cigarette butt, grabbed Chu Ziling, and hoisted him onto his shoulder.

"You carry William. Let's move."

Wen Yu took two steps before pausing to look back at Jiang Wentao. "Which way did they go?"

Wen Yu's confusion was understandable. Under the shroud of swirling yellow sand and after such a chaotic, intense battle, his sense of direction had completely vanished.

Jiang Wentao pulled a device the size of a mobile phone from his Spatial Ring. As he tapped the display, he explained, "Monkey has a tracking device on him. I can find them. Follow me."

With that, Jiang Wentao hurried over to William, scooped him up, and began heading east.

Amidst the billowing yellow sand, a group was slowly moving eastward.

It was Princess Fina and the others.

"Brother Monkey, do you think Wen Yu-Ge and the others…"

Sun Aotian spoke up but hesitated halfway through, unable to finish the sentence.

His worry was justified. For a youngster of his strength level, the mere sight of those hideous, terrifying Demonic Creatures and the sheer momentum of their Charge was enough to strike chilling fear into his heart.

Monkey frowned and snapped, "Stop thinking about that nonsense. Stay in your position and focus on protecting Princess Fina!"

In the absence of the Level 3 powerhouses, the responsibility of commanding the group had fallen to Monkey.

"Oh," Sun Aotian mumbled, moving to the rear of Princess Fina.

Monkey had specifically assigned him this position as a way of looking out for the kid.

"Stop! Halt! Danger ahead! Prepare for battle!"

Basong, who was leading the way, shouted suddenly. He raised his Steel Blade, bracing himself for a fight.

Basong's performance just now had convinced everyone of his judgment!

"Everyone, get to your pre-assigned positions!"

Monkey shouted from the rear. He pulled out two modified submachine guns and moved quickly to the front, standing beside Basong.

"What's going on? Why lead us in this direction if you knew there was danger ahead?"

Basong gave a bitter smile. "This direction has the least amount of danger."

Monkey fell silent. He began pulling out one Plasma Grenade after another, distributing them to the Class Holders standing in the front row.

"If any monsters show up, throw them immediately. I have plenty!"

As the team's specialist in heavy fire, Monkey definitely carried more plasma explosives than even Big Bear!

Not far away, seven figures emerged from the swirling yellow sand.

"Awoo, awoo…"

With several unintelligible howls, the seven Demonic Creatures took the lead and initiated a Charge.

Monkey's firearms were the first to open fire.

Rat-tat-tat, rat-tat-tat…

The rhythmic sound of burst fire rang out. The battle between the seven Demonic Creatures and the Class Holders began instantly!

Under Jiang Wentao's guidance, Wen Yu and the others rushed toward Princess Fina's location at top speed.

After all, in such a peril-filled environment, having their protection target away from them made everyone feel uneasy.

"A little more to the north."

As Jiang Wentao spoke, the group slightly adjusted their course.

Thanks to Jiang Wentao's generous support-spending points like a tycoon-both William and Chu Ziling's injuries had fully healed.

After walking for about two minutes, the sounds of exploding Plasma Grenades and the roars of humans and Demonic Creatures suddenly drifted from ahead!

Wen Yu's expression changed instantly.

"They're under attack. Hurry!"

"This is trouble. The effects of the Berserk Potion have worn off."

Wen Yu frowned. He felt his Physical Attribute drop to less than 60 Points while in his Combat State, and anxiety immediately flared in his heart.

With this level of strength, he had only just surpassed Level 3. Given the current situation, he could hardly be considered a powerful combatant.

William noticed Wen Yu's condition and surged past him, his King's Dignity erupting at the same time.

With a Physical Attribute as high as 150 Points and the greatsword in his hand, William's presence was terrifyingly imposing even without his full suit of heavy armor!

Like a supercar racing through the yellow sands, William's figure vanished from Wen Yu's sight in the blink of an eye.

"I'm heading over first as well," Chu Ziling said faintly. His Speed Ability activated, and he followed closely behind William.

Left behind, Jiang Wentao and Wen Yu looked at each other and shared a bitter smile.

This was the benefit of having teammates-one didn't have to shoulder all the pressure alone.

By the time Wen Yu and Jiang Wentao arrived at the battlefield one after the other, the fight was essentially over.

It turned out that Basong's Danger Premonition was absolutely reliable!

The attacking Demonic Creatures really weren't that strong.

Though all seven were Level 3, their Physical Attributes were only in the low 50s. Furthermore, there were no troublesome high-ranking Demonic Creatures among them.

Against these kinds of opponents, even Monkey could hold his own one-on-one.

Under the combined assault of dozens of Class Holders, the battle was basically finished before William could even arrive to provide support.
