Chapter 134 – The Meeting

Kuangliu considered Wen Yu's words as he drove. After a long while, he spoke.

"Could the two of us kill it together?"

Wen Yu shook his head immediately.

"If it decides to run, no one can stop it."

There was one thing Wen Yu did not have the heart to say.

He had seen Kuangliu's strength. Kuangliu followed a close-combat path. Against an expert on the more esoteric side like the Ancient Demon Seed, he would be crushed without leaving so much as scraps behind.

Xing's body was enormous and could survive one Dimensionality Reduction Strike. If that attack landed on Kuangliu, it would probably flatten him into a sheet of paper instantly.

Kuangliu had not witnessed Wen Yu's battle against the Ancient Demon Seed. He had only just reached Level 5, and the Military had prepared a Level 5 Skill for him. His confidence was at its peak.

"Withdrawing the troops will be difficult. The Military won't agree. Once we return to the Outpost, we'll study its Skills and devise a tactic."

Wen Yu nodded and sighed inwardly.

He had said everything that needed saying. If Kuangliu refused to listen, there was nothing Wen Yu could do.

According to Wen Yu's observations and deductions, no one inside the Outpost except him could hold back the Ancient Demon Seed. Worse, the enemy was hidden while they stood exposed. The creature represented a threat far greater than the entire Bipedal Lizard army.

The Military vehicles carrying five Sequence members and the Demon Qi Shield Generator slowly returned to the Outpost. Six top-ten Sequence powerhouses had departed, but only five came back.

During the journey, Wen Yu used vast quantities of Healing Potions and Stamina Recovery Potions to restore his Combat State to its peak.

When Kuangliu led the others hurriedly toward the Central Castle, Wen Yu shook his head and decisively walked in the opposite direction.

They intended to hold a meeting. Wen Yu had already told Kuangliu everything about the Ancient Demon Seed, so he had no reason to attend another useless conference.

Besides, Wen Yu suspected the outcome had already been decided. The Military would never withdraw from the Outpost.

He could only shake his head and sigh.

They did not understand that the Ancient Demon Seed's Skill system did more than make it unbeatable on a frontal battlefield. It also greatly enhanced its assassination capabilities.

If the Ancient Demon Seed unleashed its full power, the entire Outpost defense system would be torn apart like paper.

Back at his quarters, Wen Yu released One-Eye to stand guard and lay down on the bed. First, he checked Xing inside the Soul Realm Space.

After several hours of travel, Xing's injuries had almost completely healed. He was sleeping soundly inside the Third Soul Realm.

Wen Yu then briefly reviewed his battle with the Ancient Demon Seed.

Dark World possessed tremendous potential. Its many forms and extraordinary flexibility gave its power no upper limit.

Unfortunately, its stamina consumption was a major problem.

During the battle, if the Ancient Demon Seed had not underestimated Wen Yu at the beginning and tried to force a kill inside Dark World, Wen Yu might have spent the entire fight desperately defending himself.

"I can add more offensive methods to Dark World, and perhaps some sealing-type Darkness Skills. The Dark Demon Monarch can be strengthened further as well. I can also search among Darkness Skills for another way to recover stamina. Once the Outpost matter is over, I'll need to speak with the Military and find more Class Holders who possess Dark-type Abilities so I can study their Skills. And the Fifth Soul Realm-I must find a Divine Beast Species, preferably one with a Special Attribute."

Once Wen Yu organized his thoughts, he discovered there were still countless ways to increase his strength.

He glanced at Dark Divine Light and nodded in satisfaction.

The Ability's effects had completely exceeded his expectations.

Dark Divine Light was currently only SSS-Rank. Once Wen Yu reached Level 7 and awakened Divine Light, however, it would advance to the Foundation Rank.

Darkness by itself appeared to be an Ability somewhere between SSS-Rank and Foundation Rank.

Its effects already far surpassed those of an ordinary SSS-Rank Skill.

While Wen Yu reflected on the day's battle and his Skill configuration, another meeting was underway inside the Outpost's Central Castle.

The reason Wen Yu hated meetings was that they dragged on endlessly.

Nearly an hour had passed, yet the discussion remained stuck on how much compensation Huaxia's Military would provide to the foreign forces.

Fang Wenhai slammed the table and sprayed spittle as he argued with each Country's Military commander.

Kuangliu yawned in boredom beside him and muttered quietly with Yang Pengguang.

After a long while, the different militaries finally reached a compromise. Kuangliu straightened his collar and addressed everyone gravely.

"We encountered a problem during the operation. An Ancient Demon emerged from Demon City. It had reached Level 5 Peak and possessed a terrifying Skill configuration. Sequence 9 died at its hands."

Although news of Sequence 9's death had arrived earlier, the representative of Japan's Military still looked utterly devastated.

Every Military represented at the table had a supreme powerhouse. Whatever the differences in their strength, each was at least a top-ten Sequence member. Only Japan and several European countries no longer had a powerhouse of that level at the Outpost, placing them at an obvious disadvantage.

Kuangliu looked at the Japanese representative and spoke solemnly.

"I will add another thirty percent to the terms we just promised you. Consider it compensation for Sequence 9."

Ignoring the representative's deep bow, Kuangliu continued gravely.

"We have explained the battle in detail. The Ancient Demon with the Black Crystal on its forehead killed Suzuki Masao with a single move. I did not personally witness its full combat power, but Sequence 2 fought it and described it as terrifyingly strong. Sequence 2 recommends withdrawing from the Outpost. I want to hear your opinions."

"Absolutely not!"

Fang Wenhai answered immediately.

"You know how many soldiers the Military lost during the Outpost Battle, Kuangliu. Victory is finally in sight. We cannot withdraw because of one Demonic Creature. No one here would agree."

The representatives of every Country voiced their agreement.

"Very well. Then it's decided. I'll find a way to deal with the Ancient Demon."
