Chapter 60 – Exchange List

After hearing Fang Wenhai's explanation, Wen Yu made up his mind.

This Treasure Land had an endless supply of enemies, making it the perfect place for his Promotion!

And as long as Wen Yu kept slaughtering Demonic Creatures here, he would also be easing the pressure on the Military's defenses.

It was a win-win situation. A perfect partnership!

Once Fang Wenhai finished explaining the situation, the four men fell briefly silent.

After a moment, Lin Haifeng was the first to speak.

"Every unit currently has its own assignment. We can't spare any more personnel to reinforce you for the time being."

"However, I'll transfer Kuangliu here."

Fang Wenhai frowned at Lin Haifeng's words, but reluctantly nodded.

"In three days, I'll send more troops and weapons over. Be patient," Lin Haifeng reassured him.

Clearly, the Military was genuinely short on manpower outside.

Wen Yu interjected, "Once large-scale battles break out, this place will make an excellent training ground. Though a lot of people will die!"

Lin Haifeng nodded in agreement.

If used properly, this Treasure Land could dramatically raise the levels of the Military's Class Holders!

Now that he had a general understanding of the situation, Wen Yu had no interest in sitting around any longer. After saying goodbye to Lin Haifeng, he headed straight outside.

Lin Haifeng had nothing to say about that.

All he needed to do was bring Wen Yu inside. Once here, Wen Yu would naturally serve the purpose Lin Haifeng had intended for him.

Whether Wen Yu followed orders or not!

There were very few people in the entire castle. Most of the soldiers probably had assignments, leaving the enormous structure feeling exceptionally deserted.

Wen Yu wandered around the castle twice before slowly making his way outside.

The guards saluted him, but there were none of the complicated procedures he had expected, such as an identity check.

He strolled onto the broad street and began leisurely surveying the city.

A few hundred people in a small city like this were nothing more than a drop in the ocean, barely causing a ripple.

After looking over row upon row of identically arranged streets and identical iron houses, Wen Yu walked up to one of the rooms.

He gently pressed down on the door handle, and the door opened at once.

Clearly, these empty rooms were available for anyone to use.

He briefly examined the room's layout.

A bed, a table, and a stool.

That was all.

The rooms were probably only intended to give Class Holders somewhere to rest. He could hardly expect anything more.

Wen Yu stepped back out and entered the room next door.

It had the exact same furnishings.

"So every room is basically the same."

Wen Yu shrugged and opened his Soul Realm.

Two purple rings of light appeared, one on either side of him. Xing and One-Eye leaped out of the Soul Realm and immediately settled into their usual spots.

One-Eye nestled in Wen Yu's arms, while Xing sprawled across the top of his head…

Wen Yu took a few everyday necessities from his Spatial Ring and quickly set up the room. Then he sat down on the stool and called out,

"Kaldor, are you there?"

"I am, Sequence 2."

The moment Wen Yu finished speaking, Kaldor, the Treasure Land Guardian, responded.

Space rippled before him, and Kaldor appeared out of thin air, dressed in a Black Robe.

Kaldor performed a strange salute toward Wen Yu before slowly speaking.

"Is there something you need?"

Wen Yu nodded and gestured around the room.

"Are all the rooms here like this?"

"Yes. Aside from the Central Castle, they are all like this."

Wen Yu nodded to show that he understood.

He certainly wouldn't turn down better living conditions, but if everywhere outside the Central Castle was equally lousy, then it didn't matter where he stayed.

After a moment of silence, Wen Yu spoke again.

"I just heard Lin Haifeng say that I can obtain another reward from you?"

Kaldor nodded, then lightly waved an arm. A translucent list appeared in front of Wen Yu.

"This Treasure Land is called the Demon Hunting Ground. It was originally classified as a Super Treasure Land, and it once had more than one entrance. However, at the request of this Country's Military, I completely sealed all the other entrances, leaving only this one open."

"Here, killing Demonic Creatures earns you not only Point rewards and the Magic Crystals inside their brains, but also Demon Hunting Points."

"Level 0 Demonic Creatures grant no Demon Hunting Points. A Level 1 Demonic Creature grants one Point, a Level 2 Demonic Creature grants ten Points, a Level 3 Demonic Creature grants one hundred Points, a Level 4 Demonic Creature grants one thousand Points, and a Level 5 Demonic Creature grants ten thousand Points!"

"This scoring system only considers their level, not their individual strength."

Wen Yu nodded in understanding. In other words, killing a Peak Level 3 Demonic Creature would grant the same number of Demon Hunting Points as killing an early-stage Level 3 Demonic Creature!

"There could even be Level 5 Demonic Creatures?"

Kaldor nodded.

"The possibility cannot be ruled out. We do not raise these Demonic Creatures ourselves. They pour out through the Demon Realm Gate. The Ruler has already restricted the strength of the Demonic Creatures being sent through, but Level 5 is the lowest the limit can be set."

"Understood."

Wen Yu nodded, then turned his attention to the exchange list.

The selection of items could only be described as extravagant!

There were defensive items of every level and potions with all kinds of effects. Wen Yu even spotted various items, weapons, and pieces of equipment ranked S-Rank or higher.

"Wait!"

Wen Yu's gaze traveled higher and higher until it landed on a particular item.

"Black Book (Summoning Chapter): Through Soul Absorption, unleash the power of darkness. The Summoning Chapter of the Black Book possesses the terrifying power to summon the dead! Exchange cost: 3,000,000 Demon Hunting Points!"

Wen Yu's brow twitched violently twice when he saw the price!

Three million Demon Hunting Points was equivalent to killing three hundred Level 5 Demonic Creatures!

After slowly exhaling, Wen Yu asked one final question.

"Is the only mission in this Treasure Land to defend the city?"

Kaldor shook his head.

"No. The Final Mission of this Treasure Land is actually to destroy the city occupied by the Demonic Creatures on the other side."

"Once that city is destroyed, the Ruler will grant a tremendous reward. However, accomplishing that will be extremely difficult… The Teleportation capacity of the Demon Realm Gate is terrifying!"

"Moreover, as soon as either of the two cities is destroyed, this Treasure Land will close permanently!"

After hearing Kaldor's explanation, Wen Yu nodded.

"That's all. Thank you."

"It is my duty."

Kaldor nodded politely, then his figure slowly faded from sight.
