Chapter 116 – Encounter with the Superhuman

“Hey, you’re really not very polite, are you? But since you refuse to join us, you can’t keep the supplies you’ve taken. How about we discuss this…”

Before Wei Junyan could finish his sentence, Ling Mo suddenly felt a chill down his spine as the shadow before him vanished instantly!

Immediately, a crisp “ding” sound came from Ye Lian’s direction. Wei Junyan’s sneak attack had failed, and he had retreated several steps, pressing against the bookshelf in shock as he looked at Ye Lian.

Ye Lian held her Curved Knife in front of her, staring coldly at Wei Junyan.

“This… I didn’t expect the Campus Belle to have such skills. A superhuman?” Wei Junyan’s expression was one of utter surprise. He realized he was at a disadvantage and had intended to take Ye Lian hostage to regain control and avoid Ling Mo’s relentless questioning. But Ye Lian’s quick reaction and unusual strength had caught him off guard, leaving his hand stinging from the impact.

Ling Mo seized this opportunity to get a clear look at Wei Junyan’s weapon, which turned out to be an inconspicuous Razor, with the blade pressed against his palm and the edge facing outward.

His movements had been incredibly fast, beyond what an ordinary person could achieve, clearly indicating some superhuman ability.

If not for Ye Lian being an Advanced Zombie, she might have fallen victim to his attack.

Ling Mo was infuriated by Wei Junyan’s cowardly sneak attack on Ye Lian, despite its failure.

Clutching his Short Knife tightly, Ling Mo’s eyes flashed with a cold light as he charged forward. Though the dim light made it nearly impossible to see the opponent clearly, Ling Mo immediately switched his perspective to Ye Lian’s.

As a zombie, Ye Lian had excellent night vision. Although using a third party’s vision was somewhat disorienting, Ling Mo had practiced this technique extensively and was already adept at it, making his movements swift and precise.

Simultaneously, his Psychic Tentacles shot out, almost completely enveloping Wei Junyan, affecting him from all directions.

Seeing Ling Mo charge towards him, a cold smile suddenly appeared on Wei Junyan’s greasy, somewhat annoying face.

But as soon as he moved, he felt as if an invisible wall had appeared around him, causing his vision to blur momentarily.

This sudden change startled him, and he quickly retreated two steps.

“Bang!”

The bookshelf shook immediately, and dozens of books came crashing down. At the critical moment, Wei Junyan raised his hand.

“Ding!”

Ling Mo’s Short Knife struck Wei Junyan’s palm. Although most of the blow was intercepted by Wei Junyan’s Razor, Ling Mo still managed to leave a wound on his arm, causing blood to spurt out.

The effects of the Psychic Tentacles on a person weren’t continuous, and the sharp pain in his arm quickly brought Wei Junyan back to full alertness.

Just as he regained his senses, Ling Mo saw a flash of black, and Wei Junyan disappeared again. A chill suddenly came from behind Ling Mo’s shoulder.

Ling Mo immediately used his Psychic Tentacles to evade Wei Junyan’s attack, but he still felt a sharp, tearing pain on his back, indicating that the blade had sliced his skin.

Wei Junyan’s Superpower was indeed peculiar, allowing him to achieve a near-teleportation effect. It wasn’t actual teleportation, but rather an ability to accelerate to an extreme speed over a short distance.

As Ling Mo dodged the attack, Xia Na and Ye Lian simultaneously launched their strikes, two flashes of cold light sweeping towards the now-visible Wei Junyan.

However, Wei Junyan reacted quickly. Hearing the whoosh behind him, he immediately dodged to the side. But Ling Mo wasn’t about to let him escape so easily; as Wei Junyan dodged, Ling Mo’s Psychic Tentacles once again disrupted him.

Wei Junyan’s movements momentarily stalled, allowing Xia Na’s Long Knife to slice across his back. He managed to avoid a fatal blow but didn’t hesitate to leap out of the window.

He was decisive, knowing that continuing the fight would be fatal, and chose to jump out of the building despite the pain.

Though the second floor wasn’t very high, jumping down could still result in injuries.

Ling Mo rushed to the window and saw Wei Junyan tumbling onto the lawn below. Instead of fleeing immediately, he looked up at Ling Mo and then raised his hand to raise his middle finger towards him.

This provocative gesture made Ling Mo’s expression turn icy cold. He didn’t impulsively jump down but instead directed the Zombies stationed at the Library entrance to charge toward the spot where Wei Junyan had landed.

Wei Junyan had intended to catch his breath after being forced to jump out of the building. Although he still maintained a semblance of a smile, his eyes had turned vicious.

He had thought he could easily subdue Ling Mo and find out their intentions, but he hadn’t expected that all three—Ling Mo and the two women exceptionally strong.

He even suspected that all three might be superhumans. How could such a formidable group appear at X City University without his knowledge?

This baffled Wei Junyan, who had been very active in the area, controlling almost every Survivor Team of any significance.

However, he did not regret his decision to strike first. Wei Junyan was not one to be manipulated by others.

The feeling of being suppressed by Ling Mo was infuriating, but what vexed him more was that his sudden assault had ended with him being forced to jump out of a window.

His act of flipping Ling Mo off was an attempt to vent his frustration. He believed Ling Mo wouldn’t recklessly jump down, and by the time he made it downstairs, Wei Junyan would be long gone.

What he didn’t anticipate was that while Ling Mo remained at the window, a dozen shadows suddenly darted out from the corner of the building, rushing towards him with great speed.

The sudden appearance of the Zombies made Wei Junyan’s face change dramatically, but he didn’t associate their presence with Ling Mo.

“Shit!” Wei Junyan cursed his bad luck, wiping a hand across his back.

His hand came away sticky with blood, making his expression even more grim.

“Forgot there were Zombies around here…” he thought, glaring venomously at Ling Mo before scrambling through the green belt and running down the road into the night.

Under Ling Mo’s control, the Zombies chased after him with ferocious speed. One quickly caught up to Wei Junyan, who was hampered by his leg injury from the jump. As he tried to cross a patch of grass, he twisted his ankle, causing a momentary delay. The Zombie pounced on him, grabbing his arm.

Being caught by a Zombie was almost a death sentence, but Wei Junyan was indeed ruthless. He knew that if he stopped to fight the Zombie, he would likely be surrounded and unable to escape.

In a desperate move, he turned and swung his hand, cleanly severing his own arm.

Blood spurted everywhere, but Wei Junyan didn’t even glance at the wound. Instead, he used his Superpower again.

This time, Ling Mo could see clearly. Wei Junyan accelerated to an incredible speed in a short burst, almost like teleportation, quickly outpacing the Zombies.

Seeing the Zombies nearing the limit of his control range, Ling Mo had no choice but to give up the chase, his expression dark.
