Chapter 274 – The Cold Beauty Wrapped in Tight Leather

The next morning, about a dozen fully armed Falcon members filed out of the International Building, their faces solemn as they stood guard on the steps with guns at the ready.

Xia Zhining had shed her tracksuit, revealing a tight, black leather outfit. Her long hair was tied up high, and her tanned, attractive face wore a cold and serious expression.

Her slender, upturned eyes added a touch of seductive allure to her overall cold and elegant demeanor.

Two pistols hung at her waist, and a dagger was strapped to her thigh. She wore leather boots, stood with her back straight, and gazed into the distance from the front of the group.

Vice Captain Chen Youdong stood at the entrance with Ling Mo and his team.

Soon, another team emerged from inside.

The five people at the front were all injured to varying degrees. They carried bulging backpacks, magazines hung from their waists, and silenced submachine guns in their hands.

Chen Youdong shook hands with the middle-aged man at the front and advised, “It’s up to you to get these supplies back to the camp. The safety of those two survivors is also in your hands.”

While the middle-aged man and Chen Youdong conversed, Zhang Er and Li Wei also came forward.

“Um… I guess my dad didn’t leave any messages for me…” Zhang Er scratched his head and looked at Ling Mo with some expectation.

Before he could finish, Ling Mo reached out and ruffled his hair. “Live well.”

Zhang Er looked up at Ling Mo, his eyes seemingly a bit red.

He bit his lip, nodded vigorously, and then returned to the middle-aged man’s side.

Li Wei, looking a bit nervous, moved closer to Ling Mo. After staring at him for a moment, she suddenly hugged him and then, embarrassed, looked down and said, “You… you’re actually a good person, so… take care of yourselves.”

“This ‘good person’ card really comes at an unexpected time… you take care too.”

Ling Mo laughed as he gently pinched her cheek, then leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Don’t be so timid anymore, or you’ll be bullied.”

Li Wei’s whole body trembled, and her ears turned red in an instant.

Five minutes later, the two teams officially parted ways. Ling Mo and his group trailed behind, heading towards the area where Tom and his team had disappeared, following Xia Zhining’s team.

The route they chose had relatively fewer zombies compared to other areas, but they were still visible everywhere.

The five people in the front spread out in a fan shape. No matter where a zombie appeared, they would spot and kill it in time.

Three others followed closely behind, guns ready, keeping a vigilant eye on the corners.

Whenever a Mutation Zombie appeared, if the front shooters missed or failed to hit a vital spot, these three would fire additional shots.

Chen Youdong and the last two members stayed close to Ling Mo.

Although they had exchanged a lot of information the previous night, some important issues had not been discussed.

“Fuck you.” Lin Tianxiang frowned and jabbed Zhou Guocheng with his gun.

The big man immediately started yelling theatrically, “See, I told you he’s full of bad ideas! Go ahead and jab me, but why aim for my butt?!”

“Fuck off, when did I ever jab your butt…”

“Aren’t you a Dr? Bullying an old farmer like me, have you no shame? Don’t you have any intellectual integrity?”

“Drs can’t curse? Damn! And you call yourself a farmer? You’re basically a landlord! What’s wrong with being an intellectual? That’s discrimination!”

Ling Mo, caught in the middle, listened with a growing sense of exasperation.

“Lin Tianxiang is also a superhuman. Our team has four superhumans in total: the captain, me, and those two.” Chen Youdong rubbed his eyes, which were so darkly shadowed they looked like heavy makeup, making him appear particularly strange. “Don’t mind their bickering; they’re actually very reliable when it comes to getting things done. This mission is special and potentially very dangerous, so the other team members will act as cover while we take the lead. When we can’t handle things alone, we’ll need your help.”

Chen Youdong rubbed his eyes as he spoke.

Zhou Guocheng immediately showed a curious expression. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit one for Ling Mo. “Here, these cost me ten bullets, good stuff! Tell me, among those variation zombies…” He licked his lips and winked at Ling Mo. “Any beauties? Like your little wives?”

As he spoke, he glanced at Ye Lian and the three girls walking at the back, a hint of envy in his eyes. “I’ve been single for over thirty years, had countless blind dates, but your three little wives, they’re all top-notch beauties!” He gave Ling Mo a thumbs-up. “Really beautiful!”

“Hey, Dr. Lin,” he called out, turning to Lin Tianxiang. “As a Dr, have you ever had such beautiful girlfriends?”

Lin Tianxiang adjusted his glasses and gave Zhou Guocheng an exasperated look. “What’s the connection between having a pretty girlfriend and being a Dr? Besides, even if there are good-looking variation zombies, are you planning to flirt with them?”

Zhou Guocheng chuckled, a look of eager anticipation flashing across his dark face. “If I can’t flirt, can’t I at least look?”

“I don’t know about beauties, but their appearance and mutations… like Senior Zombies, they’ve reverted to looking like normal humans,” Ling Mo said with a smile.

This was Ling Mo’s first time acting alongside so many superhumans. They all seemed quite powerful.

Ling Mo glanced at Xia Zhining, who stood at the front. Her silhouette exuded a wild beauty, making her easily noticeable in the lineup. He noted that the other team members looked at her with a mix of admiration and respect, indicating her formidable strength.

“Those three don’t seem to talk much… Also, should we move them to the middle of the formation? It’s the safest spot,” Chen Youdong asked, glancing back with a hint of doubt.

At this moment, Ye Lian and the three girls were trailing far behind, while on a parallel street, Black Silk maintained a distance of two kilometers from Ling Mo. In an area dense with buildings, even if they were less than 500 meters apart, the others would not notice Black Silk’s presence. For safety, though, the farther the distance, the better.

Ling Mo subtly shook his head. “No need to worry about that.”

“Alright, if you find it difficult to move later, just tell me, and I’ll have someone protect them,” Chen Youdong added hesitantly.
