They had already reached outside the building and made it to a safe alley. However, the peculiar route they took wouldn’t be suitable for Mu Chen and Xu Shuhan.

Human stealth abilities are nowhere near as good as zombies’. If there’s no sure way to ensure safety, stealth would be a last resort.

“How many people at the front door?” Ling Mo asked.

Li Yalin counted carefully and replied, “Three. But more arrived while I was coming over.”

“So fast!” Ling Mo frowned.

The delay in devouring No. 0 took some time, plus he had to take care of two injured individuals, but still, they hadn’t managed to get out before more people showed up.

Though Ling Mo had prepared for such a situation, it would just take a bit more effort.

A minute later, they quietly appeared in a corridor near the entrance and exit.

Ye Lian was silently plastered against the wall. When she saw Ling Mo and the others arrive, the female zombie gave a blank but happy smile and made way for Ling Mo.

“Ye Lian,” Ling Mo called softly, then pressed himself against the wall and peeked out.

Through the glass door illuminated by firelight, he saw two figures pacing back and forth outside.

Farther down the street, five or six people stood scattered about.

These individuals held various weapons and appeared to be standing casually, yet they were perfectly positioned to block both ends of the street.

This scene made Ling Mo quite puzzled.

Even if they didn’t know their comrades inside the building had been completely wiped out, why would they be waiting outside so leisurely?

“Who are these people?” Ling Mo turned his head and asked.

Mu Chen leaned against the wall and peeked out as well, then frowned and said, “I don’t know… I don’t recognize everyone from the branch.”

“What’s the use of you then…” Ling Mo shot him a glare.

“Hey!” Mu Chen squinted and looked again, somewhat uncertain. “It seems like a few of them aren’t from the branch…”

“What do you mean, they’re from headquarters?” Ling Mo immediately showed a look of interest, but since the situation was unclear, he decided to observe a bit longer.

He glanced around and moved a bit further forward, finding an angle where he could see them all clearly.

Just as he found a good spot, a sudden whistle sounded from outside.

He was startled, almost thinking he had been discovered, but upon closer inspection, he saw a female zombie had suddenly appeared at the street corner.

The zombie was raggedly dressed, barefoot, and her long hair was a tangled mess.

She swayed a couple of times, then suddenly sped up, charging towards the nearest pair like a mother leopard.

However, the two people didn’t panic. Instead, they exchanged a smile and stood still, waiting for the zombie to approach.

Such an obvious display made Mu Chen let out a boo: “These two definitely aren’t from the branch.”

As the female zombie lunged, one of them suddenly shifted his body, dodging her at a strange angle.

While dodging, the rebar in his hand quickly tapped the female zombie’s kneecap.

To onlookers, the female zombie seemed to lose her balance the moment she brushed past them and fell forward, crashing into an old, abandoned car.

Another person seized the opportunity, moving swiftly behind her and striking with the rebar.

Just as the zombie was about to get up, she was struck down again, her head slamming against the trunk with a dull thud.

“Hahaha!”

“Did you see that? That head smash made quite a sound!”

Their laughter echoed harshly in the empty street.

The others looked on with amusement, neither intervening nor offering to help.

“Awooo!”

The female zombie pushed herself up with her arms again, revealing a blank face beneath her blood-matted hair. But her blood-red eyes were filled with rage as she turned to attack once more.

“Oh, look! She’s getting mad!”

“Come on, over here, come catch me! Hahaha…”

The two men dodged left and right, shouting taunts.

After circling the abandoned car twice, the female zombie suddenly jumped onto the roof and pounced at one of them.

This sudden change made two or three people stand up straight, but before they could act, the man about to be attacked quickly stepped back, causing the zombie to fall onto the ground before him.

“Impressive moves, but they just love to show off, don’t they?” Mu Chen muttered.

Ling Mo remained silent but frowned slightly.

The female zombie, now enraged, was struck hard once more and collapsed to the ground.

This time, before she could rise, two pairs of feet firmly pinned down her arms.

“Awooo!”

“Let me see,” the other one said as he poked the female zombie’s face with the rebar. “You’re right! And look at that chest, it’s surprisingly firm. Not like those zombies in the movies, all rotten with no muscles yet still moving around. This one’s got all the muscles, great body, bet she’d be a blast.”

“Bald Guy, are you thinking about getting it on with her?” someone watching the scene with crossed arms laughed.

“Forget it. Even if you wrapped your lower part in a steel pipe, it wouldn’t protect you from the virus,” the superhuman holding her hair remarked.

“Screw you!” Bald Guy snapped.

His comment elicited another round of laughter.

“But you all know, right? These monsters pair up just like animals!” the superhuman added.

Bald Guy waved the rebar in front of the female zombie’s face, watching her angrily lunge but always just hitting the rebar. He spoke absentmindedly, “So what? They’re just beasts.”

“Haha… I’d be curious to know what it’s like to have sex with a female zombie,” the superhuman chuckled sneakily.

Bald Guy immediately lifted his head, “You’ve got quite the imagination! But… haha…”
